The book is written in a simple language , every body can understand . There are plenty of explanatory images and examples . A treasure for beginners and more advanced painters.

Author Jan Matejak provides a look at his traditional layered process of oil painting, with a range of useful techniques demonstrated and discussed. Experienced painters may find some of it very helpful.That said, he is quite dogmatic about his process, and it's painfully evident English is not his first language. Some editing would have helped greatly.

VERY HELPFUL

Great book for artists to learn layered oil painting like old masters. There is one drawback. It did not cover on how much to thin oil paints out of tube before those oil paints lose their strength or ability to last.
