Pretty Good Stuff
We love our 2 large floor rugs, but had continuous problems with them staying in place. These rugs are on top of carpet, so that is the "installation" type that I am writing my review on. We have not used this product on hardwood, so I cannot attest as to how it works in that environment. After doing some searching, I found the Intertape product and decided to give it a try. I will say, we taped the ever-loving crap out of the first rug (used an entire roll on one large rug). My husband then did 30 minutes of penguin walking all over it to assure it adhered to the carpet underneath. We then set our solid wood pub table and 4 chairs, plus a Poang chair and ottoman in place (a lot of heavy furniture). It's been 3 weeks and we have so far just seen the very slightest, tiny wrinkle. AMEN!Now, on to my one complaint and the reason why I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5. Peeling the backing off this tape is a total B****! I think it would have been better if Intertape had made the waxy carrier just a hair wider than the tape itself. I don't know what it is about this issue that made me IRATE when I was working with it, but I just wanted to take the backer off and had a heck of a time doing it. This problem was not so bad that I don't like the product though and I do recommend it if you have creeping rug problems, like we did. We liked it enough to order a second roll.

> DOES THE JOB
DESCRIPTION1 7/8" wide. Relatively thin, smooth (not patterned or lumpy like double-sided duct tape) translucent white tape coated on both sides with a strong waterproof adhesive, protected by a peel-off backing. It is not "stretchy", but has some "give".These are good features for many purposes> Since the tape is thin and smooth, it does not easily show "panty lines", e.g., though a poster> Since the tape is white-ish, you can see where you put it.HINTS ON USELike all tapes with backings, it can be difficult to peel the backing off a loose length of tape---and it is best not to try to. If you can stick the sticky-side down first, then do so, then peel off the backing. The easiest way to use the tape is to:> Pull off as much tape as needed and cut to length (without removing the backing)> Apply to the most rigid surface you want to tape together> Press and rub** the tape firmly> Peel off the backing of the other side> Apply the second surface, and then rub**Note that the rubbing is important if you want the strongest bond. You can use a hotel key-card or a spoon as a burnisher for this purpose--if so, always protect the tape or surface with a sheet of paper while you rub.MY REASON FOR PURCHASEI purchased the tape for making mini-sanding blocks using old hotel key-cards and sheets of sandpaper (cut to size). The tape worked very well for this purpose. I was concerned that it might be thick or lumpy (like double-sized duct tape), but it isn't.CAUTION> The thinness of this tape (a good feature for many uses) means that it is best for attaching two flexible materials (e.g., two sheets of cardboard) together, or a flexible material to a rigid material (e.g., carpet to a floor). It doesn't work so well for attaching two rigid objects together (such as two sheets of wood).> Double-sided foamy tape works better for attaching objects to walls, or attaching rigid objects together. 3M Scotch Mounting Tape, .5-Inch by 75-Inch (110) > The tape is probably impossible to remove from walls, and difficult to remove from other soft surfaces. Most double-sided foamy tape can (with patience and effort) be rubbed off from at least reasonably firm surfaces.> Command Poster Adhesive pads Command Poster Adhesive Value Pack, 48-Strip and related products are much better for hanging posters, because they can be completely removed, without damaging the walls.> Click on “Stoney” just below the product title to see my other reviews, or leave a comment to ask a question.

Okay Multi-use Tape, best to stick to carpet and rugs
IntroI moved into a house with hard wood and our two couches were struggling with slipping and sliding on the new floor. I sought out some options and decided on Intertape 9970 Indoor Carpet Tape. I had tried small rubber feet and those did not work at all. A lot of people like the mesh rubber netting, but that flips up very easy.Pros; it is simple to use and holds fairly well for carpet and rugs. The double side provides more uses than just for floors.+ easy to tear+ holds well under regular traffic+ a little tape goes a long wayCons; I don't have any real cons since I was not using it for its intended purpose.~ If you start trying this on larger furniture pieces you will have mixed results.Using ItIt was pretty simply to apply to our runners and our larger floor rugs. It is double-sided with one side being covered in an easy to peel plastic. This gives you changes to move the rug before finally applying. It should be noted to clear the surface you are sticking it to with soapy water and let dry for best results. Even though I haven't had issues with residue, I would test this tape some where out of view to see how your floors react.Buying ExperienceIt arrived right when Amazon said it would.Final ThoughtsIf you have hardwood floors this tape works wonders and holds really well. You are given 36 yards, so with one roll you should be covered.

Works excellent, but paper liner is very difficult to separate
I finally got around to using this tape after buying it over a year ago, and it is excellent. I did not break its seal prior to my first use, but its shelf life appears to be very good.It used it in a fairly minimal form, just placing squares of it at corners or "curling points" of mats to keep them from sliding around vs securing the entire outer surface for more permanent attachment etc. I applied it to multiple surfaces including ceramic tile and hardwood, and confirmed that it held well but could also be removed without issue. The only negative is that the paper liner is VERY difficult to peel, so anyone who thinks metal foil tape is difficult to work with is in for a world of pain. I use all sort of metal foil tape regularly, both thick and thin mil types, and they generally do not frustrate me at all. None are as difficult to separate as this product, which is likely because the backing is thin and flexible poly vs stiffer foil tapes. The best application method seems to be applying the tape very thoroughly to the surface of the carpet so that adhesion is pretty solid, twist the carpet at an angle and then repeatedly flick at the corners with your fingernail until it begins to separate. Once you get a corner started, it is easy to remove the liner (as long as it is adhered well to the carpet). It takes a lot of patience to work with, but the results with this product are very satisfying.Considering how little of this tape you need to actually secure carpets, this $5 roll of tape is a great value!

strong tape!
I’m using this to stick chairman’s down to the carpet and it totally works. I don’t know how hard it will be to take off in the future, but it’s currently working perfect for sticking carpet to carpet as well. Also, it’s a pretty big roll!I’m pretty happy with the purchase

Big dog sturdy
Been holding down my living room rug, a turning point of the dog track that is my house, and the rug is still in place well over a year later.
