Best Thunderbolt Hub for M1 Mac | NOT PORTABLE
I own an M1 Macbook Air (2020) it's a beast of a machine, but only has 2 ports. The Caldigit Elements Hub has been a lifesaver. I use it not just as a USB Hub, but also as a charging device for my Mac and my phone and my smartwatch and my AirPods and my Kindle and my...EVERYTHING.This has really decluttered my desk.It doesn't have HDMI or SD card ports, but since all my wires are either USB A or C (including my Display cable) I don't miss either.I have connected 2 hard drives at the same time to this and found it to work decently well. I found transfer speeds to be slow when I transferred from Hard Disk to Hard Disk, but it might have been an issue with the hard disk and not the Hub.One main point though, this is NOT a portable Hub. The charger is quite big and for good reason. This Hub only makes sense for a desk setup. I keep a regular Apple USB-C Multiport Adapter in my bag when I need to carry my Mac around. But, having said that, the Element Hub is the slimmest Hub in the Caldigit line and whenever I need to shift my entire work setup, I found it quite easy and not that cumbersome. It just was annoying unplugging all my cable management, is all.Note: After losing a Macbook Pro to bad USB Hubs, I would say, spend a bit extra and get the right USB hubs for your device. I would trust only Apple or CalDigit. I have had trouble with a lot of the others.

Great Product
Go for it, worth buying

Excellent connectivity - powered Thunderbolt Hub.
This powered Thunderbolt Hub allowed me to attach an external DVD drive to 24" M1 iMac successfully as the M1 iMac alone was not able to supply the required power to the external DVD drive.

Faulty piece
Have had great experience with this brand. But need to contact the seller regarding a faulty product. Just plugged it in and it won’t connect to the computer. Hoping for a speedy resolution ideally a replacement.

Could've been cheaper, but excellent quality product
Its a plug and play device and has made my M1 mac usable with other devices. Sturdy build, great finish (matches perfectly with the Space Grey on the Mac) and small footprint make it a lifetime product.
