I’m used to throwing slightly bigger gear, 8-10wt rods in saltwater. I needed a decent rod for a trout trip with some buddies and didn’t want to fork over $300+ for a sage or orvis. I took the chance on this and was absolutely blown away, throws very nice and very accurate. It was everything I was looking for, landed 30+ rainbows in 2 days with this rod. If you don’t want to break the bank and have some nice gear, give this a go! You won’t be disappointed! I paired it with a tica 5wt reel found on Amazon also for around 50$. Get some decent line and keep it lubed and you will have yourself a fantastic setup. The only thing I wished it had was alignment dots for putting the rod together, really not a big deal though. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great rod at an amazing price 😁

This is a great rod, moderate to fast action, handles very well. I'll be buying a 10 in the future.

The first time out using it, the rod tip broke into 3 pieces. I picked this item based on the reviews and am very disappointed.UPDATEThe seller contacted me after the review and sent a replacement rod section. GREAT customer service. Hopefully, the rod will catch many fish without any issues in the future. I will look to buy from this seller in the future due to the great customer service.

I can't believe a rod built with an IM6 blank is this cheap! I am a guide and this rod casts & fights fish nearly as well as my high-ends. The fit and finish are surprisingly well done. I'm picky but I really enjoy fishing this rod.Feel: fast, firm, loads well for advanced casters but is flexi enough to not snap tippets or tear out hooks. Lots of backbone = big bug long distance caster and puts heavy fish in the net fast.You will have to spend a LOT more to do better than this.

Fit and finish is pretty good. Metal reel seat cork grips. Looks decent actually. Casting is pretty good I’m using a rocket taper 5wt line and this thing casts great. The multi piece construction makes it slightly heavier than a two piece rod, but it’s so minor you won’t notice. It also tracks well and has plenty of power. It’s slighty lacking in terms of stiffness and sensitivity but it’s worth it for the convenience. My only two concerns are the lack of a carrying case and strength. I haven’t landed anything on it bigger than about twelve inches. I do wonder how it’ll hold up if I hook into something bigger.
