Great bed at a great price for anyone needing an XL twin!
Needed an XL Twin for our 14 year old who is already 6'. I couldn't find an XL in furniture stores near me. I was a little nervous about purchasing online as I saw some negative comments regarding the quality of the materials and how long it took to put together. The bed came in 5 packages and all were adequately padded and packed well so there were no scratches, dings, etc. They even sent extra hardware in case any of it was damaged in shipping (it wasn't). The bed was extremely easy to put together (me and said son put together in less than an hour) and everything was solid wood except the bottom panel of the two under bed drawers. We used wood glue in the slots for the bottom panel to prevent it from sagging out in the future (we've had this happen with IKEA drawers before) and if you've put together IKEA furniture you will find this very similar and easy. Only piece of 'equipment' needed is a Philips head screwdriver (and the wood glue if you go that route). Bed is very solid and attractive, there were some minor blemishes in the staining but on areas that are not visible once the bed was put together. The bed was due to arrive after Christmas (Dec 28-Jan 4) but it came only 3 days after ordering it. I definitely recommend this bed.

Looks great, manufacturing tolerances/QC could be tighter
This arrived more than a week earlier than anticipated, even with a one-day reschedule added by FedEx, so that was fantastic. Everything was in good shape and there are spares provided for every single hardware piece, which is very thoughtful. I wouldn't call the shipping packaging excellent but nothing arrived damaged so it was adequate to the task. Assembly instructions include both pictures and text. Took me a little over an hour to assemble solo and that's with a couple interruptions. It looks beautiful and as other reviewers have commented, the drawers are enormous. The drawer bottom is relatively sturdy but I think I'd fashion a reinforcement cross bar support underneath the bottom (would be easy to do) if I load it with anything heavy. The only reason I'm dropping from 5 stars to 4 is due to some deficiencies with the slat components. There seemed to be a bit of variance in the length - many were fine but some were just a bit shorter and seem like they could slip off the side rail. I feel the slats could be perhaps 1/8" wider in their span. Related to that, there's also an issue with the predrilled holes on a few of the slats. There are pre-drilled holes in the ends of the slats so that they can be attached by screws to the side rails, to keep the slat assembly in place. There are not predrilled holes in the side rails so it's just a matter of centering the slats perfectly evenly and perpendicular to the side rails and then screwing through the pre-drilled slat holes into the side rails. Should be simple, but a few of the predrilled slat holes are not quite far enough toward the side rail - the screws would go half into wood, half into air, no matter how much I fiddled with aligning the slats. I ended up drilling new pilot holes into adjacent slats, that would allow the screws to fully go into the side rail wood. My advice: Be prepared with a drill in case you run into a similar problem and need to drill a new pilot hole or two.Since so many

Great Product
I don't write many product reviews, but I feel compelled to do so with this product.First, it's going to arrive in 4 or 5 boxes, which will seem daunting until you begin assembly. They are boxed in such a way that you can lay each box out, easily see your parts and assemble quickly.Secondly, I was nervous about the quality of a sight-unseen furniture purchase, but was pleasantly surprised. The construction feels very very sound and seems to be solid wood (says legal Indonesian lumber, not sure the species) everywhere except the drawer bottoms, which is fairly typical of furniture at practically any price point. The finish is also flawless (adequate and even coverage of ALL components, with no runs or drips anywhere) and seems to be pretty durable, as it withstood trips from garage floor, pinballing in doorways and assembly faux-pas.I almost gave the product 4 stars, because the drawers are trundle-style and do not actually attach to the bed frame itself, but that's not an item or quality issue. Plus, it's actually beneficial if you want to rearrange the room at some point (you don't have to remove and reinstall drawers on opposite side).Bottom line, this is a great product and I would 100% buy again. I will update review if it doesn't hold up as well I expect.

Very impressed
My wife and I are very impressed with this bed. We needed to upgrade our daughter's bed, as she's running out of storage space for cloths. We've purchased quite a bit from Ikea in the past and as such, we started looking there for her replacement bed. For one, their website is terrible to navigate and two, they didn't have what we were looking for. This led us to Amazon.AFI's products appear to have good reviews, also their web presence gives the impression that they're serious about what they offer. We took a change and are glad we did!The shipment came in multiple boxes, but that just made it easier for us to get everything inside. All the hardware was included as assembly was straight forward. The only thing worth mentioning is the need for a rubber mallet to hammer a couple of pieces together as the dowels are tight; however, this is what you want with a bed frame. You could use a regular hammer and use a scrap piece of wood to hammer against. Two extra legs are include, so that would probably work.

Piece of over priced garbage.
We bought this back in May, the bed it self is ok. For being $500 I expected it to last longer than 3 months! The middle support bars keep coming off, it’s cheap wood. For $500 I’m super annoyed! Amazon won’t do anything, the seller has no contact info. Literally the worst big purchase ever!
