The media could not be loaded. These are perfect- they are sturdy and very clear. I included a video about how to get the film off easily; scratch an "X" into the film and then use the knife to peel up a flap from the center of the X. Using the knife to get the film off didn't scratch or damage the bookend. They are very good quality and hold the books up well on my shelf that is an open-sided bookshelf instead of a closed bookcase.

The protective lining on the acrylic is a little hard to get off if you don't have good nails but it's worth it, the pieces arrived undamaged. Exactly the right touch I needed to organize my new bookshelf.

First of all, these bookends ARE clear. They come shipped with a frosted protective plastic covering that is easy to peel off. If the previous one star reviewer had bothered to actually READ the product description, the aforementioned individual would’ve known that instead of throwing a ratings temper tantrum!These bookends are as advertised and are a good quality. They are a bit on the small size, but I bought them for that reason so that they fit my paperback books. I am pleased with this product.

I was about to return these bookends thinking they were very murky and not clear at all, but then wondered if maybe there was a protective film over them and, after awhile, realized there was. Once I peeled off the layers (on the inside and outside of each bookend), the bookends were extremely clear. It may be difficult to find the ends of the film, but keep at it. Once you peel them, beautiful, clear bookends at an excellent price.

We redid my bookshelves, and I needed more bookends because of the new layouts. While I like glitz and glitter and fussy stuff well enough, I also appreciate simplicity and clean lines. These bookends offer simplicity and clean lines. You can also see the books on the end through the bookends. For the end books that show the back of the book, I just turn them around so the cover shows through the bookend.The bookends come with a protective opaque film on them that you have to peel off, so when you see their apparent "frosted" look, just peel off the film. It's tricky to start the film; I used a pointy cosmetic tool, and started on the bottom of the bookend, in case I scratched the actual bookend with the tool. I didn't scratch any of them, but I was careful.I am really happy with these bookends, and if I need more, I will definitely get these. (Not done with the bookshelf reorganization: I have a LOT of books.)

The bookends are great! I think they look beautiful on the shelf and do a great job of keeping my shelves looking attractive. However, they're all covered in a plastic film (which I'm sure is to protect them from getting scratched in shipping. The plastic film is terribly difficult to remove, especially as a person with some mobility issues. This has proven to be an hours-long chore of removing the plastic and I'm very sad that this weren't an easier task.
