In this hilarious, heartwarming comedy, Drew Barrymore shines as a budding journalist who's determined to go from "geek" to "chic" when she is sent back to high school on her first undercover assignment.

So adorable!
The more I watch "Never Been Kissed" the cuter it becomes (thanks to Drew Barrymore). It's billed as an 80's movie and I guess in a way it kinda is. It's definitely a romantic comedy and I believe it is somewhat set in the 80's, but it does have some awesome 80's music. Anyway, the storyline is really cute and I loved Gary Marshall as the not so nice manager who gives Josie Geller the undercover job. I really wish Hollywood would stop casting Molly Shannon as the friend (only because I cannot stand her), but it works either way. It's not a hilarious movie, but it has some funny moments and I really liked David Arquette as Josie's brother who is set on becoming a big baseball star. And the ending is just oh so swoon worthy.... like all 80's but not really 80's movies should be!

Parents beware of language
Movie does an excellent job of portraying the challenges of high school, often with humor. Drew Barrymore acting was very good. The story was good but there are a lot of curse words and some profanity. I would not watch it again for that reason.

Entertaining - One Time
The protagonist of this movie is a 25-year-old insecure copy editor for the Chicago Sun-Times who has never been in a committed relationship. Her publisher gives her the task of covering a high school incognito in order to inform parents about the lives of their children. The romantic comedy for teenagers is actually endearing. T. Although predictable and stereotypical, it is a nice comedy with a high school setting that offers some enjoyable entertainment for a one-time view.

Never Been Kissed - Drew Barrymore
A delightful 1999 Drew movie. She produced it (Flower Films) and starred in it. As a brilliant college graduate and copy editor for the Chicago Sun-Times, Drew (Josie Geller) is sent on her first assignment as a reporter. Her new adventure at age twenty five, takes her as an undercover investigator back to her old high school to find out what goes on and what has changed. Actually, just like nearly ten years before, Drew has her hands full just trying to fit in. Navigating the social lessons are still formidable. Cliques, mean people, show off's, and rejection, give Drew a little trouble passing herself off as seventeen and as an english major in college, she quickly gets boos and hisses in literature class. Through some tense moments, new friends, twists of fate and the curse of falling in love with her English teacher, Drew finds herself as the Prom Queen at school and nearly fired at work. However with a clever plot, love, and Drew's world class acting, the chaos has a tearfully funny and happy ending. All in all, it is a middle-of-road movie. Setting, photography, cast and script about three stars. Drew Barrymore, the usual five stars. It has been said that when the director calls for action, drew just begins speaking, and the crew wonders if she heard the call. She did. Drews devastating childhood, two decades of experience, five generations of Barrymore talent, her personal charisma and irresistible charm, determined will to survive and reach stardom is the more compelling of these two stories. Drew can carry any movie and it is always a joy to see her work.

Very cute movie fun to watch
Drew Barrymore is darling in this movie! She goes back to high school to get a story for the newspaper. What she really finds is much more important!

Not a Fan of Chick Flicks But...
I don't like chick flicks, or movies where there's a painfully obvious and vomit inducing moral underneath the bad acting and extended kisses between the lead actors. However Never Been Kissed is a genuinely funny movie with moments that make anyone cringe in horror and acting that isn't all that bad. Drew Barrymore is in her element as Josie in a unique retelling of the classic coming of age story where a young, socially awkward journalist goes undercover at a high school with some great moments that will make you laugh out loud.My recommendation: put on your slouch clothes, open the wine and enjoy with girlfriends or just by yourself. It's an absolute pleasure to watch.

Never Been Kissed
I would have wanted to know how much the DVD would have cost me using Free Super Saver Delivery. I chose this dvd because it was cheap and I enjoyed the film trailer. When I ordered the dvd it came before the estimated arrival date, it came three days after I had ordered it. I have recently watched this dvd and it lived up to my expectations. I really enjoyed, the cast were good. I found it funny, romantic and pleasant all at the same time. If you are considering buying this dvd, I would highly recommend it and it is a very good buy.

We all have fears! Drew faces them again in this film.
This film shows how the actor feels, looking back in her life, and to face those fears all over again shows us Drew is "in character " Although a "90's film her fears are the same as ours, that's what makes this film Great.
