Work well for keep sake box hinges.

These hinges are the correct size for the doors on my new sink cabinet.

The hinges are brass, but the screws are brass coated. I had to enlarge the counter- sinking so the screw heads seated properly.For the price they are great, but for a high-end project I will buy and heavier hinge with brass screws.

I was surprised at the feel of these hinges, they are tight and operate well, be aware of brass screws, they are fragile

So I needed solid brass hinges for a project that I’m working on and while a little pricey at $14, these were exactly what I needed. I received the package today and immediately red flags were raised when I felt the weight of the item which was far too heavy for brass. Visually they were not the expected luster of brass but rather a shiny surface which is usually synonymous with brass plating. A quick magnet test confirmed that the hinges as well as the screws are indeed brass plated steel! They’re in motion back to the vendor for a refund. Additionally Amazon should have the supplier modify the description to reflect accurate specs. for the item.

Location of screw hole for hinges are inconsistent hinge-to-hinge and leaf-to-leaf. Each hinge leaf must be separately installed and drilled. Otherwise, seems like a good product.

So I installed the hinges on a box and the lid would not close. Checked closely and the heads of the included screws stuck up well above the surface, tried a #2 screw, same issue. Hit the holes in the hinges with a chamfer bit. Problem solved. Apparently the screws and the hinge holes had a different taper. The hinges were a little heavier than other cheapies..

The hinges work for the job I intended but the countersik in the hinge hole is to small for the screws sent with them. Consequently, the screw heads will not flush with the hinge surface when tighten. Does not allow for a neat finish look on the small cabinet. Disappointed in the quality!
