Life saver for a frequent accident-er!!
I really wasn't expecting much when I bought this product. I have a 10.5 year old 80lb mutt (lab beagle mix). We've lived in the same place for over 3 years with no major changes, and he suddenly started having accidents in the house. I rent here, and it's hard wood (fake kind) so each time he would pee, it would warp the floor and he started peeing daily about 2 months ago. I started locking him in a separate room during the day with tile, and he started destroying that room. so it has been a rough patch for the both of us. I have a behaviorist now, and she's helping a lot, but I basically was putting down two large pee pads and then coming home to mop EVERY. Single. DAY. I got lots of mop heads and threw them in the washer but it was still too much for me. so I got one of those plastic grass patches, like 22x24in. TOO SMALL. lol they show a big lab sitting on the patch but my boy couldn't get it to stay still long enough to aim for it, and the pee pads moved from under his feet so he pretty much peed on the floor every day anyway. THEN CAME THIS PRODUCT!!! Seriously, I have only had it 10 days but this thing has changed my life. I bought the off-brand tray for it (don't by the $100 tray from the same brand!!) and when the grass came it was HEAVY. the box was a little wet and sort of crumbled, but the roll went right in the tray with no issues. My boy has managed to pee on it WITH NO ISSUES!! I think the weight of the grass keeps it steady, and he can walk on this large grass patch and pee wherever he likes. So this photo is from 10 days off use - that's one 80lb dog sized pee puddle absorbed 10 times!! I noticed today it was a little light - so I decided to water it. The grass has actually been GROWING since it arrived. It doesn't smell like pee, the dog loves it, I don't have to mop.....JUST BUY THIS GRASS ALREADY OMG I really hope no one else is going through what my boy and I are right now, but if you are, and you want to try and compromise with your dog and give them a designated place to go, this 2ft x 4ft size in real grass is the way to go!!!

Fresh, Healthy, No Insects or Mushrooms, Liberated us from Artificial Grass Purgatory
I admit I was completely freaked out by some of the the scary reviews. Especially the alarmist poisonous mushroom one with the most likes at the top--which, btw, it turns out is the exact same review on ALL of the fresh grass listings on Amazon, which is immediately suspect. Either way, I took the plunge as this seemed to have the least poor reviews of the lot, plus I'm in California, as is this company, smaller footprint. With the Covid lockdown, the foul-no-matter-what-I-did (rinsing it, replacing and swapping it, enzyme spray, etc.) artificial grass we'd been using on our condo patio emergency doggy potty (Pet Loo) had become so demonically foul in the hot CA sun that it was attracting flies, we couldn't keep the screen open, were banned from our own porch and I was desperate. Not only did this Patio Pet Life grass arrive 5 days before its estimate (2 days after I placed it), but I received fresh, moist, healthy grass with no insects or mushrooms, mold or dead grass. It appears to have been packed fresh to order, instead of sitting somewhere. Plus, it had a thoughtful and timely (I'd just run out) little poo bag and treat gift included. I was so impressed with it and the sturdy "lay flat" packaging (which the UPS guy ignored and leaned sideways, which can damage the grass but didn't), that I instantly tossed our diabolical plastic urine hell set up into a trash bag and ordered the XL size. Most importantly--when the dogs sniffed it and it was real, they looked at me with wide "There is a God" eyes, as if they'd reached Mecca. Fingers crossed that it stays this ideal, fresh, and science experiment free. Thanks Patio Pet Life, for the best patio day we've had since lockdown started.

URGENT SAFETY WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First of all I want to say that I very rarely take the time to write a review on anything, good or bad & can't remember if or when I have on or about anything. HOWEVER, I feel the need to warn buyers about the possibility that this product may contain POISONOUS fungal spores & mushrooms that may be too small to see & may be lethal if eaten. In our case, we put the grass patch out for use the day it arrived & an hour later I noticed that one of our dogs had eaten some of the grass as I noticed some of the new grass was grass in his next poop, which was a little loose. Nothing too alarming at first, as dogs often eat grass. Especially if they have an upset stomach for any number of reasons. But within 20 minutes he was vomiting & having diarrhea every 10-20 minutes to the point of dry heaving & purely watery bubbly diarrhea which was non-stop. We rushed him to the vet & were horrified to learn that he had been seriously poisoned by what the vet suspected was a poisonous type of mushroom. The problem was that this type of mushroom is not found where we live. It is however found where the fresh grass potty patch is from. Now, let me be clear that we can not be 100% positive that the grass contained the poisonous type of fungal spores & mushrooms the vet suspected as being the source of the poisoning. But our dogs do not go outside & the ordeal happened when the product arrived & was used & that our puppy became violently ill within an hour of being exposed to & eating the grass. He spent several days in the hospital & nearly died but luckily he pulled through. I only share this experience as a dire warning just in case it was the source & don't want to say very much more since we can't prove with 100% certainty it was the cause. So please be safe & very careful when ordering these products!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Super helpful for potty training
I’ve ordered a few times and some arrive in better shape than others. It’s been such a great tool to help potty train living in the city with limited grassy areas.

Great for travel or any place you don't have easy access to grass
Worked great. Our dog was a little hesitant at first to step on it, but once we picked her up and placed her on it she sniffed around and went potty. From then on she continued to use it by herself. I will note that when I ordered it from Amazon.com, it said "usually ships within 3-5 days". It actually shipped the same day and arrived at my door in 1 day, which was much earlier than I was anticipating. As such, I didn't have the use for it for a ~week and it actually had to sit in my garage covered. The grass turned yellow but was still very usable and worked fine for us a week later. After two weeks the grass was still usable, although did start to smell a little.

No instructions
First the tray arrives in a box. It is sel-evident, no instructions needed. I’ve since learned that trays of other makers separate urine-laden water to another layer, or have a pull out drawer. Not included here. The grass arrived in a roll a few days later. It looked wilted a nd worn out from its journey but recovered well with some water. No instructions for how much to use, so the grass was pretty wet. Ami got the idea right away and left her gifts appropriately: once. Then she went back to anointing inappropriate places. I thought. When a large portion of the middle lawn turned yellow, I realized she had been urinating. Was there some restorative chemical to use? No instructions. I just used water, but Ami ceased using the lawn altogether. I’m going to order one more roll and give it another try. Not sure what to do about the old one since it’s too heavy for me to lift with my disabilities. I’d like to pay for some extra service at delivery and removal, but this product is not really with Amazon, and doesn’t offer this sort of support.

A definite time and energy saver if you’re living in a high rise!
I have two little dogs and we live in Chicago on the 40th floor of a building. This was perfect for the DIY potty patio my dad made for the dogs for late night potty breaks/rain/winter. I ordered the large because the potty patio I use is slightly larger than the small size, and I couldn’t find a medium size for this specific product. But I didn’t mind and just had to cut the extra sides off. I was originally using synthetic grass, and my pups weren’t having it! But the instant I laid the grass down they both used it. It helps to have a little plant on the grass for them to “mark” if they feel the need to. The product was delivered on its expected delivery date in good condition! I opened it and there was some mostuire keeping it fresh. Great product and will plan to buy again!

Happy cross country customer
Pleasantly surprised by how well this piece of grass is holding up. I wasn't sure what to expect given this product is perishable and ships from CA and I live on the east coast. Despite the warnings on the box to open immediately, I waited until the following day (I know, I'm lazy) -- even still it looked good. I laid it out on my deck, spritzed it with water, and put it in a spot that gets the most light (which, granted, isn't all that much). It's been a few days now and my lil' doggo seems content to use it. It's still green and not leaking, so I'm happy. I might consider a tray at some point since it'd look cleaner, but all good for now. tl;dr: all good, will update if anything changes.
