This is no thicker than at least some under-pillow speakers that use a wire to connect to their source. I use it under my pillow quite happily in place of a pillow speaker.The design is quite nice. Analog dials for both volume and tuning are on the sides and are much better than using up and down arrows. They feel like the dials on a 1950's transistor radio, only better. When the hold feature is selected, only the volume dial still works, while the seemingly mechanical tuning dial stops functioning. This is clever and perfect for sliding my radio under my pillow leaving only the volume control active, with the sleep function counting down the minutes as requested. If I get annoyed with a broadcast I can just turn down the volume knowing there will be very little battery use until the radio turns off. The short antenna works well under a pillow, I should add.One could wish for more than three user-settable presets, but I wouldn't want to give up the other features to get them. The weather radio feature is nice for trips, as is the small size.There is a bit of learning needed to master the controls but I can now use them in the dark, under the pillow, without looking. The provided illumination button will help anyone use it in the dark.Though I had one of these break quickly, and the one I have seems to have lost a bit of signal after I dropped it, I still love having it, and may buy a backup just in case it disappears from Amazon.

I haven't had the radio for long but to date I am very impressed. I purposely did not choose a model with rechargeable batteries as most negative reviews on other products appear to revolve around battery issues. The sound quality is excellent and control buttons are intuitive. I bought this radio to replace a Grundig radio (no longer in production but considered the industry standard for many years) and to me, this little radio rivals the Grundig in sound and exceeds it in ease of use.

Cómo radio funciona bien. Pero recién tuve la oportunidad de probarlo con SASMEX en el simulacro de hoy y no funcionó. Aunque lo sintonice en la frecuencia del alertamiento público, y lo puse en modo Alert no sonó ninguna alerta. Tengo otro radio Midland y ese si sonó.
