Works perfectly fine
I wanted this for my Galaxy S10+ to connect to my router and try a few things. It surpassed my expectations. I have an old D-Link DIR-878 router. It's honestly quite the powerful router for the age. Dual band AC1900 MU-MIMO router that I've been running my home security system on for years. I was running it wirelessly, but switched to full Ethernet and even got an 8-port Gigabit switch to support my cameras, PC, Television and anything else.Okay, on to this product. My point is that I am able to plug an Ethernet cable into this device and straight into my Galaxy S10+ running Android 12 and then plug that into the WAN port and use my hotspot data to power my router. No router flashes required. No USB ports needed on the router. It automatically handled it all using DHCP. My only regret is that I didn't pay a few bucks more for one with a charger because this will drain your battery PRETTY quick. I haven't measured, but I think it drains it as fast as or faster than the Wi-Fi hotspot. But I just found this REALLY COOL that I can plug this into the WAN port and give my router internet in seconds. It's very fast and snappy, too. I typically use PDANet+ w/ Wi-Fi Direct to give my PC internet (I live in a rural area). When I used my phone and my router for internet, pages on the internet loaded VERY fast. The latency improvement was amazing.I'll be buying another one of these but with a charger port on it, too, so I can use it more often. We only recently had broadband run on our road and it's $50/month for 300Mbps up/down. They're taking advantage of us rural folk. I think the Gigabit plan is closer to $100. Meanwhile, 12 miles away there's cable that's $20/month for Gig speeds.Sorry about the rant. This device can not only connect your phone (at least Android 12 and up) to your router and put you on your network via Ethernet if needed, but it can also provide your router with INTERNET via the WAN port if you have hotspot data. As you know, you can use your hotspot in 4 ways: Wirelessly, Bluetooth, USB and Ethernet. It doesn't require a special router, apparently, to do this. Your router should be able to auto-config everything via the DHCP setting. I was amazed.I have one more thing to figure out. If I manually turn my phone screen off, it disconnects the Ethernet connection. But once I noticed when my screen automatically turned off, it continued working.Anyways, the point is, it works and it works great. I've had no issues with it, no disconnects, no hang ups, nothing but a positive experience. If you're using this for a laptop that doesn't have an Ethernet port, it's all you need. However, if you plan on using it for extended periods with a phone, I'd recommend paying a few more bucks and getting one with a charging port on it, too.

Works as intended
Works fine on a MacBook Pro M1. Took it a few moments to present itself, but that may have been due to the router I was trying to connect to.Great product, hassle free.
