SuperHandy Hydraulic Log Splitter, 20 Ton, Firewood Wood Splitter

Works well. Relatively easy to assemble. Started right up once I found the master on/off switch that I didn’t notice mentioned in the instructions. Good power. Large burls cause some hesitation, but it powers through them. Not fast; you’re not going to be splitting 10 cords with this, but solid and gets the job done. Very happy with this purchase. I was leery of this due to the price point because I bought a different brand before this and it came with broken critical (and irreplaceable) parts. Serious pain to return. The SuperHandy is designed better.

Amazing splitter!! I bought it thinking it would be a great little splitter for kindling but I just it all the time now and it's very powerful. The return arm is very handy and I've split 10 cords of wood in a very short period of time. Starts on the first pull. Didn't use it for almost 4 months and started right up. Two of my friends were so impressed with it they bought one also!! Guaranteed, you will be very happy with this one!!

Got it together in about 30min, just add gas, oil and hydraulic oil, and you're good to go. Be sure to cycle the hydraulic oil and make sure you put in enough. It says 1.6gal., but I found it took a little more. It's super light, and yes, super handy. Lol. Went through 2 cords of seasoned juniper and it even kept up with the really knotty stuff. My 8 year old operated it with no problem. Great little splitter for the price!

I bought this figuring if I split 3 cords of free wood it will have paid for itself essentially and I've done that a few times over. I split red oak, ash and beech which are all relatively easy straight grain woods with the occasional crotch to split and it went through it all with relative ease. I split 24" rounds with it. I had some 30"+ rounds which I split in half and it went through those. It was easy to assemble with some minor inconveniences. One of the cotter pins was too short for the hydraulic actuator. That was a trip to the hardware store but I had to go there anyway to get more hydraulic fluid since the hydraulic hose on the cylinder top was leaky. Customer service sent a new one which turned out to be too big and they resent the correct one without fuss. It initially takes about a gallon and a half of HF and a quart of 5w-30 and regular gasoline for the Alpha Works motor. Motor is good and starts on the first few pulls. Runs steady and hasn't had any issues so far. I had to retighten a few bolts after running it for a few hours and I always top of the HF after running it. Make sure to get your hoses clamped well especially the one on the bottom of the cylinder. It can't be fixed later without dumping oil everywhere. Soak it in hot water before shoving it up there. I'm generally not mechanically inclined but I was able to figure it all out. It's pretty low to the ground so you don't have to lift anything too high but you will be working hunched over no doubt about that. I wish it had a work table on one side (the engine side since it's always in the drop zone). Nothing is perfect but this is $500 cheaper than the ones at HD and Lowes and I don't need to put it on the trailer hitch to move it around.

The Man loved this as his birthday gift. We use a wood burner stove and to have this splitter helped ten-fold for stocking up on wood (instead of buying cut wood). My 83 yr old FIL loves it too.

What a great splitter for the price! It's plenty strong to push through any knots or twists, while still being small and portable. It's rasy enough to assemble and easy to store away. A gas miser, too! It only has an 18“ opening, though, but that's plenty long for my stove wood needs!

Metal frame is strong enough, it splitt. Only lasted one year.

Purchased this log splitter while it was on sale and glad I did. Assembly was no problem. The only issue I have found is the hydraulic fluid filler cap/dip stick tightens up when threading on and will not allow the o-ring to seal completely. Hence it leaks a little during operation. Not sure how to work that out yet. Other than that, it split up a 5x8 trailer full of logs in a little over an hour. Pretty good in my book.
