Best safe, you can buy for the money
To my knowledge, this is not fireproof or waterproof. Other than that it’s perfect. It mounts securely almost anywhere and easily. The locking cord is a bit cumbersome. Other than that it’s absolutely perfect. It’ll easily hold any gun and still have some room for money or things like that it’s easy to program, and easy to open with several different options. It pops open very quickly when you swing the remote keypad that is provided. It also opens with a combination or with an emergency key the easiest way to open. It is the keypad I glued several of them on my key fobs for my car, so they are easy to carry around , I searched around for a while to find this and I could’ve paid more for a more expensive but not necessarily as safe this one is great. The company is well known I think and I believe it was definitely worth the money. It’s a great safe for any RV or inside your car it opens quickly and easily closes absolutely securely. I have complete faith in the product as far as keeping anything safe and out of peoples way.

Excellent safe.
I bought this to carry in my car for securing my gun when going where it is not allowed. It is fairly heavy duty which is a good thing. I have several other small safes and I never realized how lightly built they were until I got this Hornady safe. It is fantastic the way it can be opened with an RFID (included) tag that I put inside my phone case as well as by a combination that you can set yourself as well as a key (only needed really if the batteries go down). I had a little trouble getting it programmed which may have been my fault or may have been slightly confusing instructions. (I'd hardly ever admit to it being my fault). I was all set to call the company but luckily it was after they had closed and so I tried one more time guessing at what was being said. It worked like a charm! The fact that it comes with a bracelet is nice. The RFID tag is opposite the clasp and foolish me I kept trying to make it work with the clasp. The cable that comes with it is quite strong and relatively thick. It makes the cables on my other small safes look like cheap wire (and I thought before they were pretty good). The wide variety of ways to open this safe make this a real winner along with how well built it seems to be.As an add on it comes with 2 RFID tags, and RFID key fob, a bracelet (with RFID) and if you are using it indoors in a fixed position a plug in so you don't have to use batteries (or you can). Very complete set-up and very well designed.

Quick access
This is a 3 year Review: I’ve now had this as my bedside vault and I continue to love it. As with all bedside safes it depends on your situation. With this safe you can have anything you want in front of it - a clock, books, whatever - because it opens from the top. It also has a big opening allowing very easy access to you firearm(s). The interior huge unlike a drawer which is not very deep and the sides or top of which can get in the way when you’re in a hurry. Access with the RFID is immediate plus you have a push button or key access as alternatives. AND with the battery backup it’s portable. This is the best bedside safe that Hornady makes. I’d give it more than 5 starts if I could. The safe is well built and of good size. The RFID provides quick access to the contents because just a touch to the top and the lid snaps open. Yes, it’s pricey but think about what you’re trying to protect. My one huge disappointment was the length of the cable...it’s way too short. Hornady could have provided and extra couple of feet of cable for pennies but instead they went cheap. Also, when the lid snaps open the security cable, I use the side mounted position, bounces out of the groove in the side of the box. I attached two small Harbor Freight rare Earth magnets to the inside of the case to hold the cable end in place so I’m not forced to remount it after each opening. These are somewhat small problems easily worked around or overcome. IT ONLY COSTS A LITTLE MORE TO GO FIRST CLASS. For the money it’s great piece of mind.

Works okay
The wireless feature isn’t very reliable. Don’t plan on relying on using the wireless NFC feature to open it quickly. Plan on using your numerical code to open it. It still opens rapidly this way, but I was hoping for better NFC communication to open it.

Confirm sizing if you have a larger compact gun.
So, first off the case is solid! And heavy! Both good things, but be aware if you want to use this for travel it will add significant weight to your luggage.OK on to fit and function. I have a Sig P320 XCarry. It barely fits the 2600KP. Had I checked dimensions a bit more close I may have opted to go with the XL, but my gun does fit with my extra mag but just barely. See the photo. My wife's gun is a Sig P365 XMACRO and that fits just fine with a bit of wiggle room to spare. So, if your gun is overall longer or taller than the overall height and length of a P320 XCarry you WILL need the XL. I considered swapping my box for the XL but this box is just for my truck when I absolutely have to go somewhere that would land me in jail for carrying a sidearm. Since my P320 does fit and with the extra mag I opted to save the extra 90 bux the XL would cost. About the only place I go that I can't carry is when I go to the VA or the very rare occasion I visit someone in a hospital.Set up was easy, follow the instructions and pairing the RFID tags was a snap.In conclusion, this is an exceptional lock box, and the fact you can plug it into the wall if used in your house is pretty awesome.Side note: when you select an object to put the security cable around keep in mind 2 things. Make sure it's strong, and equally or more important, don't put it around something that it can just be lifted off of. I've seen this happen before. Just PSA.

as advertised
works well and accommodates small firearms. Cable lock secures safe. Nice to have something to keep young prying hands off. Especially like that u can either swipe the fob/ punch in the combination or use the wrist strap. Am considering buying another one.
