First off I have been an esthetician for 8 years. You obviously don’t need to be an esthetician to use this pen, but I do feel that because I am my review should hold some weight lol. This thing is amazing, it hurts like hell, I know a lot of people use lidocaine- I don’t. I would recommend going easy your first time just to see how your skin handles it. I looked like a hot mess the day of- extremely red, bloody and very sore. My skin was dry and flaky for about a week and then AMAZING 🤩 I am constantly getting compliments on my skin. The first time I used it on dry skin, the second time I used it with a Bruun ampule which I highly recommend. My down time was much faster and it actually didn’t hurt as bad. Consistency is definitely key but that really goes for all skin care. Its easy to use, easy to store. Buy it!

Dr. Pen Ultra M8 has cordless operation, a large range of depth settings, 6 speed settings, and selection of compatible needles make it a very versatile tool for different areas and applications. Take time to get to know the pen and take care with finding good tutorial resources. With good technique and hygienic practices this pen will provide excellent results. My only criticism of the device would be that the depth markings on the dial are quite small and difficult to read. A quick glance with readers to set the depth will help. If you plan to change depth settings as you go to different areas (as many treatment require) keep a sanitized magnifier on hand so you do not have to touch your face with glasses during your treatment.In my experience, those with sensitive skin can feel confident with this tool. The treatments should be well tolerated as long as you follow depth setting recommendations and are conservative with follow up skin care for at least the first 2 days following your treatment—no acids or retinol. Purchase a good HA serum to use during your treatment and continue with that and a simple moisturizer for the next 48-72 hours after needling before returning to your normal regimen. Pay attention to your skin and continue this longer if you have any remaining redness or deeper treatment areas. As always, protecting your skin from the sun, staying hydrated, and getting good rest will encourage healthy healing and support great results.

This pen is awesome! There are not many instructions on how to use it, so I watched some YouTube videos of women using it on themselves first. I highly recommend doing that, especially if you have never used a microneedling pen before. So far, it has worked really nicely and my skin feels and looks great after.

After doing some research and falling down a YouTube rabbit hole, I landed on buying this micro needles. Straight out of the package, this feels very high quality. I micro needled my face (love that the needles come prepacked and sterile), and I was very happy with the results. You can easily adjust the depth of the needles as you go for different zones of the face. Loved it so much I bought my mom one!

I really would have preferred to wait until I’d used it a couple of times before reviewing but they sent me a thing for a free box of needle carts and this was part of the deal!! It’s a solid win for me- even just after the first use tho. Watch all the dr pen vids you can FIRST and pay attention to the appropriate speeds/depths for different areas- that matters! I have seen a few vids (by beauty DIYers ) where they aren’t wearing gloves, don’t discuss keeping your work area clean, cross contamination etc and it makes me nervous. As a nurse, I’ve seen the horror stories! Disinfect your work surface, use the chlorhexadine scrub to wash off the numbing cream like dr pen says, and wear the gloves. Don’t dip into an open container with that gloved finger you just touched your skin with (especially skin that you’ve just poked holes in)- be mindful of cross contamination. I use paper towels from the second layer down on a new roll as even just washed towels may still have bacteria that could get into those little wounds you’ve just made! Just like with after-care, you don’t want “active” products on your skin during or your skin will be very upset. Stick with plain HA (huge fan of the Ordinary’s 2%- very high quality and inexpensive.) All that said- the results are going to be good if you follow instructions because this is as close as you’ll get to a salon dermapen!

I had Microneedling done by a professional a few times, watched a couple of videos, and then finally felt confident to try this at home. I bought Dr. Pen and paired it with a numbing cream and hyaluronic acid and WOW my face has never been better. I am consistently using this product every 4-6 weeks. I have a lot of leftover acne discoloration from my teen years and this has changed my life for the better. I feel confident leaving my house without makeup. Fantastic product and you've got cosmetic and deep Microneedling.....im going to use velatox from acecosm as I've heard it's amazing for your glow with this and the recovery time is fast...I really suggest Jessica 10 on YouTube (I watch penn etc but what I've learned from Jessica is totally next level....she's a rock star and so generous with her time). I think this is going to be a good friend to my skin for a long time. The versatility and products that really give it that oompf! She's really educated me. This is a great product and the stuff you can use from Korea (kfda aorroved only...seriously....Jessica 10 wanna be diy guru....she's a wealth of info....tell her Ali sent you but Ill be there.
