American BioSciences DGP Joint Support For Pets All Natural Formula – 60 Chewable Tablets (2-Pack)

I have an 8 yr old Lab that was dx with very bad FCP in both elbows. Before age 2, he'd had surgery on both elbows. But by that point, the damage was done. He was bone on bone; with osteocites growing. BUT, he was young, happy and full of life. He still enjoying playing harder than I'd like, and still could outrun every dog in town! He of course always paid the price after, and wound up needing pain meds. (He could not tolerate any NSAIDS the vet tried - and we tried all of them, except Rimadyl - as it was a documented fact that it proves fatal to 60% of Labs. We didn't want to find out if he was going to be one of those)..Anyway, at the time of surgery, on my almost 2 yr old lunatic of a baby; I was told (by his board certified ortho vet) that better x rays were seen in dogs being carried everywhere. His were the worst seen in 20 years. As to how he was still walking, and wanting to enjoy life; was a mystery; but one thing was sure:. Before age of 3, his clinical signs would begin to match his medical findings. He'd stop playing, stop walking, and there would be very little pain meds could do. Before his third birthday he'd have to be put down.Devastated, I looked into every supplement (he'd been on glucosamine/chondroitin since he was a baby). I spoke with 2 canine nutritionists, and embarked on switching him to a homemade raw diet (with a lot of wild Atlantic salmon in it). This all had a huge impact! His symptoms decreased, and the need for pain meds decreased.He held up very well with that along with his supplements, for a few years. It was after his 7th birthday that he started having more trouble again. He still enjoyed playing with his friends; or his long walks; but he was needing pain meds almost daily.That's when I decided I would give this product a try. I was skeptical of the claims. He was already on a tumeric paste (as I'd learned that tumeric alone is useless). We had tried boswellia in the past, with no benefit. So, ingredient wise; I couldn't see this making a big difference. But, I was willing to try anything. He was already more than 4 years passed his "expiry date".Now he is 3 months past his 8th birthday. More than 5 years passed his expiry date. He still enjoys his walks and running in the park. It's only on rare occasions that he needs his pain meds.I don't know how long this will be a help; but for now it's been great. I pray this lasts for a good while!
