Great for a supplemental text
This book has lots of info but its layout can be very confusing in some parts. This book also dose not have everything necessary. It is good to use as a supplemental text but not your go to.

Excellent content by a world leader in equestrian
I bought this for a friend, who has a young sport horse and was struggling to get the horse to relax in training. She is very happy with the book. When it was delivered to me, I had a look through it, and liked it so much, that I ordered another one for myself (I bought a used copy from elsewhere). It's like the bible for training young sport horses with lots of tips and exercises to do, and it follows the German process of training, which is the Scales of Training. This established and successful method is clearly explained in English in a friendly, factual manner by Ingrid and her father Rainer Klimke. Lots of photos to illustrate the type of movement that is desired as an outcome by following these methods. It is a very helpful book for anyone with a young sport horse, and I would highly recommend it.

An excellent book - highly recommended!
You can't find a more experienced and respected dressage trainer than Ingrid Klimke (apart from her father I guess!), so this book provides excellent tips, diagrams and explanations of how to train a young horse - but also helps novice to experienced riders to understand the aids and work necessary to achieve this. An excellent book, highly recommended!

Great for a horse that you are ready to ride
I was hoping for more info on groundtraining and feeding etc. there are a couple pages for yearlings but the rest is all for when you are ready to ride.

Disappointed
Very basic information. I should have just bought the cavaletti book. This is written for absolute beginners. Didn't get much out of it sadly even though I really enjoy her work normally.
