not that good quality and a bit hard to set it up
Not that good quality and a bit hard to set it up specially by 70 years old women.

It won't recharge until you find the plastic strip
I thought the units were broken because only the base would recharge. Then I found there's a hidden piece of tape with a blue tag that covers part of the pins on the bottom of each hearing aid. Until you pull it off, you'll be unable to recharge the hearing aid. They're clever little units with a portable re-charge in the base, useful since rechargeable hearing aids may run down in less than a day. It turns on automatically at the last setting you chose when you take it out of the charger. So don't start fiddling. A five second hold down on any part of the volume button will turn it off and a repeat will turn it back on. A one second tap on the volume button moves volume up an down. A two second tap cycles it between four different programs. (basic, high frequence cutoff altered, low frequency cutoff also added , tinnitus suppression added) I'd give a higher rating but I had so much grief before finding the hidden tape.UPDATE: Seating the earbug in the charger unit is so fiddly that I'm upset. I've tried about seven times to re-seat them but the charging keeps quitting. I've only once been able to get the individual buds to recharge and show green, instead of disconnecting.

Does what it claims to do
For a quick fix, these do what they claim to do. Very discreet compared to most, much smaller than most other online options and they certainly do amplify. These do not not compensate for tinnitus not do they block out unwanted noise but do amplify all sound.Although there is 2 programming option, one more bass then the other more treble and crisper sound amplification. But in a pinch, these do exactly what they are supposed to do and that is to amplify only.A cautionary measure you need to observe is that if you are sensitive to high pitch noise, they will be uncomfortable, so one needs to ensure the volume is low enough not to hurt your hearing instead of helping. This set does remember the last programmed settings do you don't have to readjust every time you begin to wear them after charging. All in all, a pretty good product for the price and good enough for those occasions you need a replacement or to enhance your hearing for a while. One note is that I myself don't wear them constantly and on an every day basis, so you may need the way more expensive, programmable type that only a hearing specialist can provide.Other than that. I'm happy with my purchase and the seller also provided very fast shipping.

Cheap and can wear with headphones with no squeal
Okay, so these are not 3000 hearing aids. If you want that, great. If you're broke like me but would still really like to hear well again, these will do you quite well. It's obvious that it's amplified across the spectrum, but I've had 'prescription' hearing aids so I can compare here. WELL worth the money. Think of these like the cheater readers at the drug store. If you need specialized lenses or one eye is better than the other; they're not going to work well for you.Charging case is very nice; make sure you take off the stickers over the charger points on each aid, the instructions don't say to and so I charged the case a while before I figured out OH there ARE charger lights for the ears.Five days in the right unit started buzzing. I was waiting for a reply for my question, and then just for the heck of it, tried the right unit again. It appears to have righted itself. My review is back to five stars for bang for the buck. The noise reduction setting VERY much helps, as well.

Random squealing
Initially I was happy with the product in that it did allow me to hear better and they weren't horribly uncomfortable. However, without any warning the appliance will start to squeal loudly when wearing them. Since I only wear them sporadically the window to return them elapsed much to my dismay. I definitely would not recommend them to anyone needing to wear them for more than a few hours as that's when the squealing starts making them unbearable.

Static feedback
In order to hear correctly the volume had to be turned up and the static feedback was quite loud. They were making noises for no reason. If the volume is turned right down there was no static, but I couldn’t hear anything either.
