clear water again
This is an amazing product for the price. It's actually rated for a 70 gallon tank, but works quite well in my 90 gallon tank. Just a reminder to folks, these UV filters will kill not only the harmful bacteria, viruses, fungus, green water algae, etc., but also the necessary beneficial bacteria, so make sure that you have plenty of medium for beneficial bacterial growth. I added some pond dye that contains beneficial bacteria to my tank filtration system. The water is now a very pretty light "Caribbean" blue...not green. My baby koi are very happy and active in the tank. Their parents are sleeping off the winter in the pond. I have UV filters for my pond as well. I can see the fish in water that's 6 feet deep. The balance between mechanical and UV filtration, along with plenty of bacterial medium (placed after the UV filters) is the only way to go. I use the pond dye to make it more challenging for the local raptors to feed out of my pond.

Cleared up water fast, has good flow
I have tried the other green killing machine, and it didn't last, was hard to clean and had slow water flow. This thing is BIG, it is for a 25-30 gallon tank at a minimum, really for large tanks. It is easy to disassemble and clean and has a large intake sponge that is easy to remove and rinse off. Just pinch the sides where it clips in and pull the plastic shroud down. The bulb is large and easy to access if you ever have to replace it. The pump is powerful, you will notice the flow rate immediately when you turn it on. The outgoing flow valve is directional adjustable to around 45 degrees left or right of center. The ON light on the bottom is impossible to see in the tank, but no big deal. The directions are horrible, covering two different models and providing parts you probably won't need, but will confuse you. Most likely you just put the blue airflow tip on top, and don't worry about the weird little hose and clip they send you. It only took 2-3 days to clear my water of a lot of algae, so far so good, thumbs up. Now I just have to wait and see about the reliability. This is a big unit for the price so it seems like a good value.

Crystal clear tank
i Usually don’t spend a whole lot of time with reviews, but let me tell you- my 55 gallon tank has had terrible green water issues, 3or 4 complete cleans, replacing rocks and all, and the green hazey water returns. Within days, always. I’ve tried many filters, and chemical treatments, nothing did a thing worth reusing or keeping. I plug this thing in, and no lie- within 5 minutes my tank was crystal clear. I love having a good looking tank, and I was very much on the verge of shutting my whole tank down. THE best investment I’ll ever make. Amazing!

Does what it is supposed to do
If you have an aquarium, you'd probably benefit from a UV sterilizer. My last one wore out, and the water was starting to turn green again, so I ordered this one, and within a day the water was clear again. (I have a 55 gal tank). I would give it 5 stars, but I have a hard time when I have to remove the bottom to get to clean the sponge. I realize they want a tight fit to keep the water flowing in the right direction, but a twist bottom would be so much easier than the "squeeze to release the brackets" style. A strong man might not have a problem, but that has always been a struggle for me.

Not a bad little unit
While not as powerful or quite as effective as the "Green Killing Machine", for a cheaper alternative, this does the job, especially in a smaller aquarium (up to 20 gallons). Takes longer to clear up any algae blooms or green string algae, but if you are patient, it will do the job.

Really works at a good price
The instructions are crap (awful translation to English!) and there were some extra pieces I didn't know what to do with. I was also used to a similar product which required tubing so I was perplexed not to see better diagramming making it clear that none is required for this unit). Nevertheless, I put it in the tank and had to immediately leave town for a few days. When I returned, the tank was CRYSTAL clear vs the murky green that caused me to make the purchase in the first place, so I can't complain overall. It was a good price, though I will say it seems like taking it apart when it comes time to replace the bulb will be a bit sketchy. I also didn't see clear indication of which bulb I'll need.

Great for aquariums
This product is helping my 60 gallon aquarium along with my two hang on the back filters. With 6 goldfish it helped with the water condition.
