Little Red: an Everland Ever After Tale

The Wild West Comes To Everland!
First I have to say that I don’t understand the negative reviews about “The Gingerbread House” and what went on in Hank Cutter’s head. No where does it say this is a fairytale for children. This takes place in the old west, folks. What would the old west be without a whore house! And other than really good kissing, anything sexual is in his head. From the very beginning He vows he will protect and keep Little Red safe even from himself. I actually enjoyed this story. My only complaint was too many dumb referrals to fairytales. It was good enough without any of them other than Rojita’s red cloak.

Caroline Lee does it again with her retelling of classic fairytales that aren't like the original or any other retellings.
I loved this version of Little Red Riding Hood by Caroline Lee. She has twisted this tale in a beautiful way that is not like the classic fairy tale at all. It is a wonderful and wild in adventure story about secrets and need for Little Red to get back to her hometown of Everland where as an orphan she grew up in a most wonderful orphanage with many brothers and sisters, her grandmother and grandfather as all this kids call them. It is truly a family not your ordinary orphanage of the mid 1800's in Wyoming Territory. A Western version if you can imagine.Red as Hank calls her for her spectacular and gorgeous red hair, and her red cloak she is wearing when he finds her in the woods running from something. He has stumbled upon this beauty all alone where no woman should be alone. She is very trusting of him at once, which he knows she shouldn't be. She asks him to escort her safely back to Everland and will pay him for it.Hank is an ex bounty hunter who says he will do it, but knows he won't but wants to get her safely to the next town and on a train to Everland. She is being chased by a very dangerous man who Hank knows oh so well since he once had is own chase with the man as a bounty hunter, and was shot by the dangerous El Lobo. Knowing this he has to get Red to safety. This is a wonderful new exciting twist on this classic fairly tale that you are so pulled in from the start and want to read it from start to finish.Everland is a wonderful and very different town in Wyoming Territory that Hank thinks all these people are strange but Red knows that are wonderful people who were misplaced elsewhere in the world. Can an ex bounty hunter and a beautiful woman with glorious red hair and opposite personalities get along and give in to their mutual attraction to each other that is from the beginning? She is thinks she can take care of herself and has lots of determination to do so and he knows she is not all that capable and needs help before she gets into to trouble. She thinks he is so handsome and is drawn to him as he is to her but he has his plans to go to Arizona and buy some land, build a house and just retire. Any chance they can survive the what if's?Read this book and find out about this wonderful story of love at first site and heart changing minds even if the head isn't so sure. You will love it and the people of Everland. But for the background story to Everland the town and it's misplaced people who finally find it home, start with Ella the first book in this wonderful and engaging series.I highly recommend this book and hope you will read Ella and then Little Red and I know you will as I will want to read any new stories coming out in this series.

A Unique Telling of a Classic Fairy-Tale
I’ll admit, I really do love a fairy-tale adaptation. I grew up reading fairy-tales. Looking back I can’t really say I was drawn to the princess finding her happily ever after with Prince Charming per se. Rather, I loved the locations. The adventure! Growing up in suburban Ohio, basically any story that took me to another part of the world was a plus. When it came to this adaptation of the classic “Little Red Riding Hood” tale, there was an added unique feature of the story being transported to the Wild West. Gunslingers and all! It was such fun to see the mention of other classic fairy-tale characters as well, from Aurora to Snow White! Then when our main characters arrive in the small town of Everland, we see classic elements drawn into the names of streets and houses too. So cute!I will say I thought it was extremely unique to adapt a fairy-tale into a good ole’ western romance, with a bounty hunter, gunslinger, not to mention an orphanage that needs saving! I also enjoyed the interesting twist to catching our wolf. In this adaptation we see grandma is the one who dons the disguise instead of the other way around. That being said, I do feel that unfortunately some of the essential elements of the original story were lost in the adaptation. When I think of the original “Little Red Riding Hood” tale I think of two primary characters: Red and the Wolf. If I put more thought into it I remember the grandma. If I reaaaally push it I remember in some variations you have like, a huntsman, who helps Red kill the wolf and rescue grandma. In this version you have Rojita as Red, Hank as our manly hero, and grandma is, well…grandma. One character was noticeably absent though for a rather large portion of the book. The wolf!! Infamous gunslinger, El Lobo, is our villain, but he’s only in a few scenes and doesn’t actually appear until a large portion of the book is already finished. Kind of disappointing.

Red and the Wolf
I stumbled across Caroline's comedic sense of humour while I read an ARC for Merry Farmer set in Regency England, I was caught! Now, it took some time due to other obligations'n but I'm finally able to play Catch-up with Caroline's stories.Yeah, I'm a romantic but I'm also a Double Gemini! You guessed it, I love learning and I'm a Jack of all trades. This means I have a huge base of knowledge. It also means that I enjoy seeing the "hidden" facts.O, I can't even begin to list the facts about this book that I just loved, so you just go and read the book so you'll understand!Welcome to Fairytale Central with a wicked twist, enjoy the ride!

Western remake of Little Red Riding Hood
I received this book for free in lieu of an honest review.A very different take on a well known and loved fairy tale. The story is both interesting and humorous. The characters portrayed are modernised from the original tale.A light hearted read that I gave four stars. I would have given five stars if the story had continued to complete the "happily ever after" side of the tale.

The Fairytale is real...
A slightly madcap take on a Little Red Riding Hood set in the wildwest. The characters throw themselves into the novel with gusto and a few human failings.A special read...

Not a book for children
Don't let your children read this one. It is the Red Riding Hood tale, but it is for an adult audience. If heavily edited, it could be for all audiences because Carolne Lee is an excellent writer and can do it well.
