Kindergarten Rocks!: A Kindergarten Readiness Book for Kids

Perfect book for your rising kindergartner
I bought Kindergarten Rocks! as a present for my nephew who is starting kindergarten in the fall. He was feeling a little anxiety, especially since he is an only child and has not seen an older sibling start kindergarten. The book is lighthearted and fun and the perfect way to give an only or oldest child some older-sibing advice about the big day. My nephew reads the book every night and he has also taken it to preschool show-and-tell to show all the kids that Kindergarten Rocks! I also got Welcome to Kindergarten, which is a fine book, but would be my second choice. For any anxious parents, I'd recommend The Mommy's and Daddy's Guide to Kindergarten, which my sister now reads every night before bed too :-)

Engaging picture book
Great book for a kid entering kindergarten soon. The illustrations are colorful and the story is relatable. We have read it over and over in the months since we got it. I am hopeful it will help with the transition this fall.

Cute Book, But For Children With Older Siblings In Same School!
We purchased this book to prepare our eldest son for Kindergarten (as you can imagine). This book is cute, and my son really does enjoy it. I would caution a few things though. In the book, the child is nervous for his first day of Kindergarten and his older sister talks him through it, rides the bus with him, helps him in school, etc. If your child IS the oldest/only, this book is not really too helpful as whenever the subject in the book is nervous, his sister is at school to help him. My son thought it was cute and funny, but doesn't really help relieve 1st day nerves when the child in the book doesn't have to go alone

Such a cute book for new Kindergartners!
My son wasn't really nervous about starting Kindergarten, but I ordered a new book for a his big brother, so I wanted to find something for him as well... This book is soo cute... Dexter is about to start Kindergarten and his big sister is helping him out because he's a little nervous. My son loved it- in fact, so did my second grader! I definitely think it's a great book, especially if your child is apprehensive... :)

Good book to purchase before kindergarten
This a great book for a kindergartner who may be a little anxious about starting school for the first time. It's about a boy who expresses his fears through his stuffed dog, who joins him on his first day. Once he gets there, he realizes school is actually nothing to be scared of and meets lots of helpful people. The images are bright and large. All in all, a good book to read together before kindergarten starts.

We used this book to get my son with Autism ready for kindergarten the best part was when he was at school his first day of kindergarten I went to the dollar store and there it was a little blue dog plushie for $3, since September this little $3 blue dog plushie "rufus" has been my sons favorite all because of this book. he never likes plushies and brings this little blue dog everywhere obviously this is one of his favorite stories we read a lot lol.

great for any child starting school
This book was a great investment for my son. It really helped him go to kindergarten and settle in. I think this book would be great even for kids starting preschool for their first time as well. Kudos to Katie Davis for an amazing book!
