I bought my son this Ruckpack (80 litre) as he was trekking around SE Asia for 5 months. This Rucksack is essentially 2 packs in one, with a smaller (15 litre) day pack zipped onto the main pack. Having packed up, we took him to the Airport last night. As we were walking from the Car Park to the Check-in desks, the daypack literally fell off. When I looked the zip that secures the day pack to the main pack, it is a very small lightweight zipper, much like you would have on the fly of a pair of trousers! My son had to unpack all the items in the smaller pack and try to get them into the main pack. The day pack then had to become his 'carry on' bag for the plane. Not sure what he will do with this small pack when he arrives in SE Asia (today), I assume he will have to dispose of it. I sent Mountain Equipment a note explaining what has happened, and all they could suggest is that we send them a photo showing the fault or take it into one of their stores for them assess it! Unfortunately my son is now having to trek around SE Asia with a damaged pack, and which is 15 litres short on his original quantity that he can carry! I hope the main zips on the main pack hold up.

Bought this rucksack for my son to travel to Australia. Its multi purpose uses means he can use it as a day sack, holdall and large capacity rucksack. Very well made. He is very pleased with it!
