Just what I needed!!!
Growing up my mom taught me to bake and her glass measuring cup was what we used for years, now I am married with kids and still bake ,, but it's not the same so I had to get a glass no handle measuring cup,, now baking is fun again...

Wish I'd had this sooner
I absolutely love this measuring cup. I often have a recipe that I need to modify by doubling or adjusting to some different proportion than what was originally given, that results in weird odd quantities of the various ingredients, e.g. 5 TBS or 10 1/2 teaspoons etc.In the past this would mean converting to something like 1/8 cup + 1 TBS, or 3 TBS + 1 Tsp + 1/2 tsp (and hoping I can remember for each, and using multiple cups and spoons to add it all up) - ANYWAY - this cup is so fantastic - those weird amounts are SO EASY in this cup - I totally LOVE how I can pour in a bizarre number of teaspoons and tablespoons - even multiple different ingredients that add up to more bizarre totals - and the TBS and tsps go all the way up the side of the cup, every increment. LOVE IT.1/22/17 Edit: Please note that the cup does come with instructions that specify not for use in the microwave. I didn't notice or forgot - and yesterday I heated up 1/2 cup of water to dissolve some salt, then poured in cold water to make the total 2 cups of brine, and the fast temperature change of going from hot to cold instantly cracked the entire glass. My fault, obviously, but in case anyone was wondering why it says not to use in the microwave, this is one reason. Now I have to buy another.

Works as advertised
First thing to understand- This is a pint beer glass that has been marked with six different graduations. Now, that being said, it does exactly what it's intended for. I washed it with a Brillo pad and the ink DID NOT come off. I checked each graduation column with a lab scale. They are dead on.All of the columns intended to be used for liquids stop well below the rim. I would not recommend using the sugar/flour scales on the grams column. Dry ingredients are best weighed.Only fault I can find is if it's more than half full, it dribbles if you try to pour liquids from it slowly. To avoid that, you have to dump it rather quickly. But, as I said initially, it's a pint beer glass. It's not designed to pour.I'm happy with it and recommend it.

Glass is nice but accurate would be nicer
the primary point of the taper is to improve accuracy. In the case of mine, notsomuch. constantly off by about a tablespoon. I will upload some pictures. The ink is very hard; it sticks out off the glass; feels like the glass is etched at first (now that would be much better). The combination of the thick glass, the taper makes for a serious parallax read error; easy to be off 1/4oz It's actually easier to read precisely by looking THROUGH the liquid if it's clear enough to do so.I'd sure be a whole lot happier if the thing measured the amount according to the LINES on it!Oh. FYI for future buyers; it's EXACTLY a classic regular glass 'pint' glass like you'd use for beer, but with markings. As others have stated it's a PINT glass but the markings go to 1 ¾ cup not 2 cup. I bought mine to replace a 1c measuring cup that i melted with goo-gone trying to remove the idiotic sticker; man i tell you about the morons that pick what stickers to use!somehow i thought it was going to be RED and it was BLACKas far as the accuracy goes; if you always use just this measuring device, of course then you will just make slightly bigger recipes. It was mailed in a padded envelope! whoa i guess if they do it always and they make it; kudos for saving material but i was pretty shocked to see glass sent in a bag!-awr

Handy item
I use it to measure ingredients for smoothies and then drink right out of it. I have ordered a few.

Specs: stated and unstated
4 stars: This is a solid product, with clearly marked, and very readable, measurement lines that are quite accurate. This heavy weight glass is made in America, and is lead free. Why 4 stars: The specs indicate that it holds 2 cups (16 oz.)...not quite. The uppermost red marker line is actually an accurate 1-3/4 cups. If you fill the glass to the rim, it measures 1-15/16 c., 1/16 of a cup less than 2 cups. The on-line product description, and the package liner says that the glass is dishwasher safe, but the recommended care, on the liner, tells you that you should hand wash the glass, and avoid abrasive products. And finally, another reason for only 4 stars, the product liner says "Do Not Microwave". That's one of the reasons that I bought the product. I wanted to measure thick syrups, honey or molasses in the glass and warm in the microwave for easy pouring, after measuring. I also wanted to be able to melt butter or margarine, for certain recipes. I wish that I had known about the microwave caveat.

Tall slim cup makes it easier to measure than using standard shorter & wider cups
Finally found this product again! I bought one years ago at Bed Bath and Beyond with the only difference being the measurement markings on that cup were in red instead of black. BB&B stopped carrying this product. I will only hand wash this one to try to make the measurement markings last. The markings on my previous cup began to wear off after numerous times in the dish washer, and being left out in the sun when I had used it to measure organic fertilizers. To me having a tall slim cup like this makes it easier to see all the various measurement markings as opposed to most measuring cups which are short and wide. This one also has many different ways to measure -ounces, ML, cups, tablespoons and so on.

Don't heat in microwave
I loved the cup but heated water in microwave and it broke.
