Abnormal and Clinical Psychology: An Introductory Textbook

Great book
Having applied for a Clinical Psychology MSc I was advised to buy this book to prepare for the MSc. The book is an excellent introduction to Clinical and Abnormal Psychology as it explains in sections the different theories and therapies used to treat mental health problems. The book begins by taking you through the various approaches to treatment such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. The rest of the book is divided into chapters which explain specific disorders such as depression, schizophrenia and so on.Overall I found the book very useful, it is a good introductory textbook.

Excellent.
Brilliant book, my lecturer described it to us as an introductory DSM and I think he was spot on. The best points; this edition has excellent up to date refs, recommendations on further reading, and a fantastic critical dialogue on diagnosis, treatment and characteristics of disorders and illness.I'd say its probably a must-read/ or at least very useful up to MSc level.
