Doctor Who Annual 2023 Hardcover – January 17, 2023

For Doctor Who fans these are super fun. They have become a tradition and are geared for a younger audience. They include a recap of the previous year, puzzles, comics, stories, games and other fun stuff. The older volumes are quickly becoming collectors items and fetch some good prices. I look forward each year to a new volume with added facts to the Doctor Who universe. They are considerably cheaper purchased used on here as they are imports from GB and are often hard to find in the States. They make a great gift for Whovians young and old

“Doctor Who: The Official 60thAnniverasry Annual 2023” contains material celebrating the long-running science-fiction franchise’s diamond year. Like many of the “Doctor Who” annuals, this book is a combination year book, trivia collection, and activity book. It profiles the Thirteenth Doctor (Jodie Whittaker)’s traveling companions, looks at the history of the Timeless Child, examines various relatives of the Doctor, and covers various enemies from the Daleks to the Sea Devils, the Swarm and more. This Annual includes a story about Clara Oswald from Jasbinder Bilan. The material primarily focuses on the Thirteenth Doctor’s adventures from “The Flux” and beyond, but includes references to classic “Doctor Who” and the wilderness years as well as the revived series that began with Christopher Eccleston’s Ninth Doctor. A great addition to any Whovian’s collection, especially those who have been collecting “Doctor Who” annuals since they were young.

I expected to see a lot more information about the different doctors and companions over time.

...meh, just about everything else. I completely disagree with a lot of the theories listed therein, so the non-puzzle content is bothersome. It seemed like the folks writing the text hadn't actually watched the episodes in question with all senses active (well, at least sight and hearing; no need to actually taste the screen or anything similar, unless one is a waaay overly curious Time Lord).But I liked the puzzles. ;)
