ROKR 3D Wooden Puzzles for Adults-Orrery Solar System Model Kit-Crafts for Adults Teens-Gift for Father's Day

I recently purchased this orrery for my sister-in-law. She loves it! The planets all move in their specific orbits, unlike the spinning music box style orrery she had before. It was a little challenging to assemble, but the high-quality materials and detailed instructions made it easier.

Works as advertised. Fun to do. No issues.

there were pieces missing which, of course, weren't needed until the absolute end of the build. the company's website indicated they were not taking emailed requests for assistance (or missing parts), so i was stuck with a partial solar system, which didn't rotate beautifully with all the gears and planets moving in beautiful symmetry. i created an account with the company and emailed them via the confirmation of my account creation requesting the missing parts, but have yet to hear anything from them. while it was well-made and the instructions were clear, i can't recommend it.UPDATE - the company did finally allow me to send a request through their website to request the pieces missing. bear in mind it will take a bit to get to the US from china (several weeks). also, they make a distinction between parts that were missing from the kit and ones broken or lost by you while assembling it. they charge a flat fee of $5 for ones you have lost. it did allow me to complete the kit, which looks really cool and is amazingly heavy.

I have assembled 6 ROKR kits; mostly clocks. The parts of this orrey are the best and fit the best of all of my previous experince with the products. In addition ROKR has improved the written assembly instructions to the point that they are much much better than the instructions with the clocks. For new users.... there are very very many small parts, be careful not to loose them, after starting the kit, many of the wooden parts become detached from their orignal board, however they are all embossed with their part name. keeping track can be a challenge. I use labeled plastic refrigerator bags to keep track of them ..Kit is physically large.

This was by far the most challenging ROKR kit I've assembled (hence the low score for "Easy to assemble," a dumb question for puzzles) - I loved every minute of it! I do not recommend this as a first-time project, but rather something to aspire to. Hint: Saturn is the worst, because of the rings; but a bit of Elmer's will make it work; sand the inside before adding the rings. Also, be generous with the wax, even if you have to use your own (plain birthday candles are a good investment).Seriously, I love these things! And because of my love for clockwork and astronomy, this may well be my favourite!

Can not complain about ROKR products. My husband loves putting them together and playing with them after. He says it relaxes him. All those little pieces I’m not sure how. Great to keep your mind sharp and help with coordination and dexterity.

I took a few days to put this together testing the rotating parts along the way. The instructions are amazing and the parts are pretty precision.However, when I got the last couple of layers on the rotation became very poor. It now sits on the coffee table and does not impress anyone and will probably be discarded soon.

My son is enjoying the project. This is a multi day project and I want him to learn about each planet.
