Good scoop
I use this scoop to put muffin or cupcake batter into muffin pans. It's a good size for muffin cups. I wash it in the dishwasher and it's lasted me for 5 years so far, and I think it'll last me for at least another 5 years!

Irreplaceable
When you need an ice cream scoop, nothing else really does the job quite as well. You can use a spoon. You can cut your ice cream out with a knife, etc. But, do yourself a favor and buy an actual scoop. When I was young, my mother had a scoop just like this one and it even outlasted her. I do not know if this actual one will last as long, but it works great! The action is sturdy and it is just sharp enough for that really firm frozen stuff and it and under normal use, I highly doubt you will break the handle.I did not test this for cookie dough, or whatever else people use ice cream scoops for. Just ice cream.Peace!

Kitchen Gadget For Me
OK.I can't help buying kitchenware, vintage or new, especially "open box" discounted items.I may never use this disher. I love how it looks. I want the whole set. They are like toy soldiers or ....See how I am? I like to see this in my kitchen. It is a little visual surprise, shiny, round and bright.I would never buy jewelry, or collect coins, but little cheerful homey kitchen gear makes me happy.

Poor craftsmanship
Item could have been good if it was made properly. The scraping part inside the scoop is not sufficiently made, so when used, a lot of dough doesn’t come out of the scoop! At least 10% of product is left in the scoop bc the metal scraper isn’t flush to the scoop...It’s not a returnable item so amazon sent me another one for free and the second one was the same, if not worse! The scraper was not even smoothly round but bent! Even when trying adjust the scraper metal, it clearly shows that it’s too short to be flush to the scooper. This was a waste of my money.

Perfect 1/3 cup disher
I love dishers for my catering recipes. They're great to standardize your catering or large batch home recipes to get portions right and make ordering ingredients easy. They're especially helpful when others are making your recipes, and you can't rely on someone else to eyeball your preferred quantities. The color coded handle makes it easy to spot the disher you require.

Adequate for my needs
When I saw some of the reviews (after I ordered this scoop, of course) I was concerned that I might have made a bad choice. I bought this specifically to measure out batter for English muffins. Fortunately, it worked fine for that type of thin batter. I wouldn't want to use it for ice cream, cookie dough, or anything that might put up a fight. As others have mentioned, the sweeper doesn't meet the side wall of the scoop, which makes it basically useless for things that aren't inclined to slide out of the scooper bowl easily.
