Very Good for What They Are
While these are best used for decomposing food stuffs, I have used them in a waste basket in my room for about two years or more. Lightweight, non-perforating garbage is preferable, however. Heavy items will cause the bag to burst, and needless to say, sharp items will definitely puncture the bag. Those of you reading this who live in the U.S. will find the price to be easy on your pocketbook, also. For some reason, I cannot purchase this brand from Amazon Canada, but I gladly accept the exchange rate, and believe I'm still getting good value for the price. So, don't expect too much from these bags on the waste side of the equation, and you should be happy with them. As for decomposing food, I have not used them for that purpose, so am unable to judge them on those merits. Read other reviews on this page for that info.

Great bags!
These are great little bags. They work well for cat litter and also small bathroom trash bags. Was very happy to find biodegradable 'plastic' bags for the cat litter now that plastic grocery bags are being banned.

Not accepted by my local city compost
I accidentally didn't check the qualifications for these bags. It doesn't have the verification stamp on them that they are compostable, which is required for the Minneapolis city compost program. Check if your local composting program has any such requirements. I cannot vouch for its compostability because I do not do at-home composting. Has a plasticy feel, so I would be doubtful myself. But, that does mean there is no leaking or issues with the liquids like seeping through the bag, so if that is important to you may be worth a shot. I take my compost out enough that that usually doesn't bother me in other bags. I'm using these up for cleaning the litterbox, which I cannot put in the city compost.

These are great for using biodegradable garbage bags
These bags are rather small, but I put them in my smallest garbage can. I’m happy to know that they won’t survive for handles of years in a landfill, but rather will decompose along with what’s in there. Every little bit helps.
