powerful vitamin C serum
This is a powerful vitamin C serum (20%). This is packaged very well in one of those glass bottles that seem to block light from the serum, keeping it active, fresh, and potent. It has a pump style head and be prepared that this serum isn't going to come flowing out as easily as other serums and creams. The pump is by no means bad but it will come out in little small squirts and you may have to press 2-3 times to get the desired amount. It uses airless pump system, which is one way to keep vitamin C "fresh", so that's why the pump mechanism is the way that it is.This is what you would expect from real vitamin C serums. My skin felt a little tight and taut, almost like if you were to apply egg whites on your face, but not as dramatic. This is not one that will moisturize and make your face feel soft but it will, hopefully, reduce any sun spots and blemished skin. I can't report on the results yet as it is too soon to tell but this looks promising! I don't have super sensitive skin but I did feel a slight sensation on my face, almost like tingling. I definitely know the vitamin C was at work. My face did have a slight irritation and on one side of my cheeks I woke up with a little tiny bump, like a pimple. It is just how my face reacts whenever I put on something that is stronger or irritating - however, I expected this to happen since this is 20% vitamin C. This has a pleasant lemon/orange smell, nothing overwhelming. I like the smell and hope it doesn't turn rancid or smell funny, which does happen to vitamin C serums. When I woke up in the morning I wiped my face with a cotton pad and toner, and could noticeably see yellow on the cotton pad. This is definitely a powerful vitamin C serum, I expected for my skin to feel slight irritation. I believe your skin builds up sensitivity, like using retinol, so I would also suggest going easy first if you've never used potent vitamin C products.

Oxidation!!!
Do not purchase! I have three bottles of this serum and they have all been a very dark orange color. I noticed on some reviews as well as on their website the vitamin C showed to be a clear or slight yellow at the most. So I did a little research and upon investigation I found many professionals saying that once the serum is a dark orange the oxidation process is at full effect and it’s no longer safe to use. It’s basically trash. So this entire time this company has been sending me oxidized (old) product! So upset and very disappointed. I would definitely look elsewhere! Like I said I have three bottles and they all have this issue. Also I have t had them long. One is new and still in the package (I was on auto ship)

Oxidized, dark orange color
I’m pretty sure this product was damaged when it arrived. It was dark orange/brown, had a bad odor, and was really sticky when I applied to my face. It left my skin sticky and stained orange all day, very uncomfortable. It may be a good product when fresh, but my bottle was awful.

Works well for my skin
I’ve been using this for a month or so and it has worked well to keep my skin soft and smooth. I don’t see any real visible results yet, but my skin feel smooth and so I’ll keep using it. I haven’t had any irritation even though this has a higher concentration of vitamin C than I’ve used before. It comes in an opaque bottle to keep it potent. The only thing I’m not a fan of is the scent as it’s a bit strong. It’s supposed to be citrus but mine has a bit of a pungent scent to it. I can’t quite place it but it doesn’t linger so it’s not a huge deal. I do wonder if it’s gone a bit bad since others say their products smells like a lemon/orange scent, but I haven’t had any irritation or other problems so I’ll keep using it. Scents are different for everyone. Everything else about this serum has worked well for me so I’ll keep using it.

Effective
I’d just ran out of my previous Vitamin C Serum, My previous serum didn’t specify the % of Vitamin C contained in it, and so I’m thinking that for this product to state it contains 20%, then that must be at the upper end of allowable vitamin c content within such products.Certainly, I’m THRILLED that the first ingredient listed is not water for once, it’s aloe Vera juice, which i used to apply to my skin on it’s own, straight from my plant, back in the olden days of “beauty from your own kitchen” and whilst it was slimy to apply, it soaked right in, and moisturized wonderfully, so I’m happy to see it as the 1st ingredient on the amazon List of Ingredients. also at the upper end of ingredients are Hyaluronic Acid and Glycerin, both humectants that attract moisture into the skin, so I’m impressed with the ingredient list as presented. The Vitamin C is also right at the top there, as I’d expect.Ok, so on the skin, it’s fairly thickish for a serum, compared to my last, which was very runny, it felt tingly, and like other vitamin c serums I’ve used, it leaves a tacky feeling on my skin. This is irrelevant, and expected. I apply a moisturizer on top of this, because it contains two humectants, but needs a barrier to retain the moisture. I’m impressed so far. Any product that makes my skin tingle makes me feel like it’s doing something.Let’s be real here, I’m 56, i have deeper wrinkles around my mouth, and noticeable crow’s feet, and a few forehead lines, and I KNOW that no topically applied product will give me a facelift. I fortunately don’t have any discoloration, unless you call a healthy crop of freckles, discoloration, i guess we’ll see if it removes those over the course of summer, though i quite like my freckles, however, if this makes me appear to have a porcelain complexion, i will not complain at all. It definitely helps with moisturization, and my skin does feel hydrated, soft, supple, and silky. I like this a lot and would recommend. I like the organic ingredients, i like the style of the pump, and i like that it is cruelty free.
