both set on max flow and they both work GREAT. I use them both to pump water up ...
At first I was a little worried about the cheap look and feel but for the price and high reviews it was worth taking a chance. I use 2 of these pumps (since 7/20/17), both with the 3/4" adapters, both pumping through 5' of hose, both set on max flow and they both work GREAT. I use them both to pump water up to my main fish tank from the sump. They replaced a single Sicce Syncra 10 High Flow Pump (2550GPH) that I messed up. :( In comparison with the Sicce Syncra 10 High Flow Pump, the Trupow 5800 (1375GPH) pump is less than 19% of the cost (as of 7/27/17), uses less than 22% of the power, is 99% more quiet, comes with MANY adapters and comes apart in seconds without tools. The specifications, performance, adapters to get you going QUICKLY and price are hard to beat as of 7/20/17. I HIGHLY recommend it. :)

Fantastic Aquarium Pump
This pump is extremely quiet and is perfect for my aquarium in the living room, as it is inaudible. It is used as an under tank, inline pump for a 90-gallon planted set-up. I purchased this pump to replace the identical pump purchased in 2016 and had been operating continuously for the last 6 years but had developed an annoying slow drip from a nano hairline crack in the impeller housing. The replacement installed in less than 15 minutes and performs flawlessly.

Nearly silent - slightly lower flow than advertised
This is such a delightful surprise. I am replacing a 920 gph pump for an office shrimp rack that you could hear in other rooms. I bought this one based on a couple of other reviews that said that this was near silent. The good news is that it is indeed almost completely silent. As in "I have to turn off the whisper air pump in the room to be able to hear this pump" silent. The only drawback is that this definitely is not a 1,000 gph pump. It runs at a lower volume than the 920 that it is replacing, but I have a valve in the plumbing that allows me to compensate for this, so it doesn't really affect me. I only have to adjust it slightly, so I would guess it to be close, maybe around 850 - 900.Assembly and installation is simple enough, with the most difficult part being which of the attachments to use. It comes with what was to me a staggering assortment of valves and adapters to fit all types of connections. It's certainly nice not having to piece something together from other parts!

Not reliable
I may have received a dud. The first time I plugged it in it started pumping as expected. Very quiet, strong flow, it was great! (I tested it from a large bucket with tap water) A few hours later I plugged it in again and nothing happened. I tried multiple times without luck. I then removed it from the water and heard a faint high pitch sound when it was plugged in. I tapped it a few times and it started pumping. After submersing it again, the same thing happened - it worked a couple times and then stopped. Will be returning it for a more reliable pump.
