East’s to use. Make portioning food easy when I buy in bulk.
I hunt and fish so this is really useful when freezing my wild game meat.

This is a great machine, it is so easy to use a five year old could use it.
I use this to save money, I buy food I like when it's on sale and vacuum seal it and use it when needed even up to a year or two later, love it.

Best investment a bachelor can buy or any family wanting to save money
Perfect solution for lazy home cooks like myself or anyone who has to buy things in bulk or cook in bulk. I cook for myself, because women seem to run away from me. Maybe it's my face. Because I have to cook for myself and I do not like to cook on daily basis one meal at a time, I much prefer to buy items in family size pack and cook all at once and store the rest. This helps me not only seal and seperate some meats individually for later use or cook bulk and seal them so they keep better. It does what it's intended for in my home.I chose this super expensive top of the line item from Foodsaver even though I am not exactly rolling in stack of dollar bills to be able to make it rain, because I have seen other products that require you to hold the bag straight while pulling down the cover and pressing buttons. I wanted to make sure I could make the seal perfectly each time and have the angle right so being able to use my hands to keep the bag straight and letting the machine do rest of the work was important. It seals in my opinion no faster than any of their other models. It is just the full automatic process that is a huge plus.It also has attachment for zipper bags and marinating food containers (this item comes with 1 marinating square container). It's handy for somethings if you have items you have to be able to open often and reseal. This would not work for you if you need a portable sealer. By no means is the attachment portable.Maintenance: There's drip tray you can easily pull and pour over sink. Changing the bag rolls is very easy. Just lift the top cover. You can then very quickly and easily swap out the 2 different size bags, one for the other.Tip:- I prefer to keep the larger bag roll in the machine. I just put the small one in there when I want to make some bags. I just bulk make smaller size bags and then replace the larger roll.- If you are considering buying portable food saver to vacuum seal zipper lock or "ziplock" bags, there is a very cheap alternative that you can buy. This is sort of a life hack. I am a wine drinker so I have an item called "Vacu Vin" it is only $15 and it comes with hand pump and 2 wine stoppers. This works absolutely well for vacuum sealing those bags. I have tried and all you need is a flat surface just as you would with the foodsaver one.- If you buy bacon or some other meats that you would like to be able to freeze individually without any freezer burns, this is a very good product. One thing about freezing bacon is if you don't seperate the slices before hand, it's hard to pull apart later. By laying out each slice in the bag and vacuum sealing it's very easy not only to seperate later, but also to thaw. It only takes few seconds to thaw slice of bacon if you do it the way I do.

So Far it works great!
Used a few times and so far it works. One bag did not suction. Most of all the package was not damaged. Thank You.

Why you should buy this device
I bought this vacuum sealer because I do a lot of cooking, sous vide. I bought a vacuum sealer (and of the same brand) about three years ago and its sitting somewhere unused in my house, I'm not sure where, because it failed to do its task. Not enough suction. And for a long time, I've made do with Ziploc bags and just sort of burping most of the air out manually. The thing to know about these vacuum sealers and sous vide cooking in particular is that really isn't good enough. The meat gets freezer burnt if left more than a month in the deep freeze and even if it doesn't the food just isn't as good as if you went the extra step and used a heavy duty foodsaver bag. This is important because the reason I do sous vide is the time, hassle factor combine with wanting premium cuts of steak mostly. Grocery stores usually have mediocre meat that has been frozen and thawed more than once, sometimes, which damages the meat and reduces its quality. You might not see the difference but you will taste the difference. I buy my meat at a butcher who knows what he is doing. Ironically, I pay less for it. And I usually buy it 20 pounds of premium ribeye steaks at a time. Sound extravagant? One of my premium sous vide meals costs less than eating out at Burger King. Actually, significantly less. Tools like this one seem expensive but when you add up what they save you, in a very short time, you are actually saving money.I needed a vacuum sealer that actually works so I bought this one that costs three times more than a standard one. The difference is, this one actually does the job. The $100 cheaper version DOES NOT. That's why you should splurge and buy this instead of cheaper ones. It does the job with plenty of power to spare and that's that.Although a lot of people might want to custom size bags (which this unit excels at), it's really just a hassle unless you have an odd sized cut of meat ore really small portions. For example, if I'm cooking for the family, I might make a whole rack of lamb or racks of ribs in the sous vide bath. Easily done with this unit. But mostly, I just use the precut, ziplock style bags. They are excellent and a real time saver...unless of course you don't have a unit sufficiently powerful to quickly process them. Then its a huge hassle to say, package two dozen steaks for the deep freeze. I really appreciate this unit as it does that task quickly, over and over again with no problems.
