Dansko Women's Sonja Mule

Beyond disappointing ! I had several friends recommend Dansko shoes. As a teacher, I am on my feet literally all day long. I was looking for a supportive, comfortable, yet classy shoe and found these. I was hesitant to spend so much on a simple pair of clogs, but everyone insisted these were the best. When I first tried them, I was impressed, but not even a year later, with minimal wear (& I didn't wear them all summer long)--these are completely disintegrating ! Am posting a photo of one of the shoes--BOTH shoes have CRUMBLED at the heel. Unwearable, unrepairable ! At this price point I would fully expect these shoes to last YEARS not months. DO NOT BUY THESE SHOES !!! : (

I've worn an open back clog for many, many years and they are typically from Dansko or Alegria. It's been a few years since I've updated my shoes and I was not happy to find that apparently the backless clog design isn't popular right now. I was very limited in my choices so picked these. In the past I've sometimes had trouble with this style of Dansko being too snug on the top of my foot causing pain/discomfort so I was worried. However, they fit like an absolute dream! I wore them straight out of the box all day with no issues. I always wear a European 39 or US 8.5 - 9. Dansko sizing never disappoints me. I have deteriorating foot joints and if not in good shoes I feel like I'm walking on marbles. Also recently I cut the back of my food (ankle) and closely missed my tendon making a backless shoe mandatory. These are beautiful and they fit my "slightly wide" foot. If they came in other colors, I'd get another pair.

i’ve been wearing these for decades and have owned many pairs. This new pair is different in that the arch support hits my foot behind the arch and too far back toward the heel. It digs into my foot uncomfortably.The problem is not the size. The length is fine.Since I’ve always had both a brown pair and a black, I have a nice comfortable old brown pair in the same size, 38, to compare with this new pair. It’s not the same product. There’s no problem with the arch supports in the old pair, and they are as wonderfully comfortable as Dansko clogs are supposed to be.

I'm really disappointed with these, especially considering the other positive reviews. I'm on my feet all day and was hoping these would help reduce my lower back pain, but they're too stiff across the top. They're so stiff that they have bruised my feet! I bought the right size, I've tried breaking them in...I can't for the life of me understand why the top is so inflexible. Are these manufactured in a country where people can't feel the tops of their feet?!If these shoes aren't meant for people with medium arches, Dansko should explain that. Now I'm out $120 for shoes that hurt me too much to wear.

I’ve been wearing Danskos for 20 years since moving to NYC. My last pair of Dansko Sonja’s lasted 10 years and were pretty shabby. So I ordered the same size 38, and ordered a 39, which is my size in full back Danskos. The 38s were way too small, too short, and I was swimming in the 39s. The sizing was really messed up. Then I read that Danskos are being made in China now. That explains a lot. So I ordered the Sanita Sonja which is still made in Europe, Poland to be exact. The 39 is perfect. I have now become a Sanita wearing person. Bye bye, Danskos.

After reading the reviews I am glad that I ordered the next size because they fit right in length, almost like my old ones, but the leather is too stiff. I'm a size 10 Regular but I got an 10.5-11, so 41 European, according to chart size on Amazon. I think that they are not sized correctly here. I am a European living in the US, and I always get a size 41 E anyway. The tow box is fine, with space for my toes. But they're too tight on the collar area pressing too much on the top on my foot bones, and the leather is so stiff that I am not sure that they will mold very well or stretch with time. My feet are not wide nor narrow, I just have high arches. I always were leather shoe tops, never man made, but this leather is too hard and stiff. My old clogs (from another brand, Land's End, from many years ago) which have softer black leather, also smooth like in these ones (not nubuck, and I prefer box leather because they still clean longer and do not stain so easily). The arch support (which I need for plantar fascitis) is moderate and good enough, but not as comfy as my old ones. They foot bed seems padded, but a bit harder. They feel and look almost the same, except the quality of the leather, so stiff... and much tighter collar area... So I am not sure that they will work for me, if my feet swell a bit when they get tired or it's warmer... But the soles feel good and comfortable when I walk inside the house, better than other brands I tried recently. These may work well though for younger people with narrower feet, but I am not sure with wider feet or high arches with also high top foot bones like me. So, sadly I may have to return them. And if I get a bigger size, I am afraid they may slip off. Too bad that the leather is not more flexible and softer so it can stretch a bit, because the rest of the clogs are good and comfy. That's why I gave them a 3 on the review. But if the quality of the leather was softer and also around the collar area they could be a 5. I hope they change the type leather because the rest was better than average. It is so hard to find clogs with comfy padded soles with arch support. P.S. I ordered them in black, so I am not sure if the leather is the same type in white. I did not get the white ones because I do not like the white color soles (because they're too dirty in white. They should be beige/tan or light brown, in my opinion). UPDATE: After walking on carpet less than a minute inside my home my bone spur (which has not bothered me for the last 3 years or more) started to hurt, yes it hurts! So definitely the padding is Not good and it hits on the wrong spot on the heels or arch area... I took them off, and it stopped hurting wearing my padded Birks.

Love my Danskos! I’ve bought at least 10 pair over the last 15 years. I’m a teacher and on my feet a lot! They are very supportive and easy to walk in. This is the first time I bought open back clogs. It took me two tries to get the right size. (I’m a 41 in danskos but 9.5 regular shoe size. According to size chart, 41 is 10.5-11). Houser shoes delivered shoes by the next day! Speedy delivery and right size!! Love these clogs!

I ordered product accord to my shoe size. It came up quite small. Could have done with the next size up.I returned and got my refund without any problems!

Not my first Danskos. NOT MY LAST !!Last ones were a lower heel with a removable insole.I started wearing because I heard they could align my step and help my very bad knees.My first ones I got at a local store.They helped alot but we're a few years old and not supporting my feet against rolling outward.Knees were aching again.These arrived and they are even better than my first Dansko clogs !!The insole isn't removable, it's not an issue for me, but wanted to note that difference however.The formed insole really pushed my arches up. Thought it might hurt after a day but I was fine. I love the strong arch and foot support !!The leather is thick and heavy and won't get mushy looking for a long time.Very very high quality leather. Beautiful oiled finish! !My legs and knees feel aligned and I'm a bit taller and they look great !Price was less than local retail. Could have waited for a sale I suppose but my knees are too important !!Dansko clogs and sandals will be all I wear from now on !!!!!Thank you DANSKO !!!

I had bought these clogs years ago. I wore them out. I started searching for them right away. That was 15 years ago I thought I would never find them again. I finally found them in a ad on Amazon. i am very happy now. Thanks A+++

The mule is not as wide as I would have liked but still a beautiful mules. Very well constructed.

most comfortable clog I've ever worn ! I often hav painfully swollen toes and these just cradle them in comfort.
