Enjoyed reading Heidi's book on how the power of encouragement changes the world. I appreciate her approach with being upfront about her faith journey and how she has wrestled in her work and family life. She is right in saying God loves us with an everlasting love, regardless if we choose to believe or accept the invitation. Heidi was a brave encourager to disclose something so personal and wonderful; her discovery of the love of the Father God as a personal relationship. I appreciate her approach in opening the door to using imaginative prayer to experience the truth about who you truly are which was a common practice in the early church. She wrote about going beyond what you feel and getting past lies that you may not even remember being spoken over you. She provides so much encouragement and truth that I am using to continue to build and strengthen my faith. Highly recommend!

In this book the author writes “You are the one person who can make a difference.” This really hit home with me! All of us are already equipped to be brave encouragers to others in our lives. We can do this in the season of life we are in right now and can make such a tremendous and positive difference in the lives of others. It costs nothing to be encouraging to someone yet the benefits reaped are priceless. I loved reading this book and am excited to become the encourager God means for me to be.

I first found Heidi as I was digging for counseling referrals for my patients on the internet. That led to her podcasts and the realization that she grew up in my home town and my children were in the same grade as her siblings. And this little girl wrote a book? I had to check it out. Warning. Once you start reading you will NOT stop because of the message she shares that is yearned for in this world right now. "I am just a little country girl from North Branch " (page 42) brought me to tears with her vulnerability, gave me heart smiles with her encouragement, and called me out toward to a closer and braver walk with my Father. Passing this gem on to family, to friends, and sharing it with my patients and colleagues.

I am a Christian counselor who works with survivors of severe trauma. Heidi's book, The Brave Encourager, is a great tool to bring into counseling. Whether you are traumatized and looking for a way to walk out of hopelessness or the average Joe who deals with lies of self-worth that permeate the mind, this book walks you through healing thoughts and emotions that are contrary to God's beliefs about you. The book is well written, and it reads like Mortenson is sitting right next to you, sharing her testimonies and personally ministering to you.

Heidi's book can impact the world. If we all followed these the practical and easy to do recommendations in this book, I can only imagine what a beautiful place it could be. Reading it made we want to be a better person and bring heaven down to earth.
