Gold Bond All Cotton 39" W x 4" H x 80" L Futon Mattress, Duct, Twin X-Large, Black

I haven't had a chance to sleep on it yet, it's been airing out for over two weeks -- it smells strongly of something pungent on the cotton batting/cover. I'd really like to know what the smell is and if it's harmful.

This item is NOT 4 inches thick. It is two inches. Thick cover but the inside is light weight. I would recommend only as a topper not a mattress.
