LOVE PEETS
I love Peet’s French Roast! I’ve purchased countless other more expensive coffees, some of which I really enjoyed, but when it comes to price versus enjoyment, Peet’s is the winner. I liked this coffee just as much or nearly as much as the more expensive coffees I’ve tried, so for the value I wouldn’t rebuy the others again and I stick with this one. It’s a strong, but non bitter or overpowering dark roast, that is lightly sweet and smoky. Definitely worth a try

Smooth, non-bitter cup of rich tasting coffee. Forget Starbucks.
I had almost given up on finding a non-bitter tasting coffee. I kept thinking that my taste buds had changed as I grew older...after all I was using Starbucks expensive coffee beans and aren’t they supposed to be the best? Then I decided to go out on a limb and try Peet’s, and now I’ll never look at Starbucks the same way. Round, smooth-tasting coffee without the bitterness I experienced with other brands. I’m very impressed and you’ll will likely be too. Try a bag of Peet’s and see for yourself. (And on top of that it is a better value than Starbucks.)

Top notch coffee. Fresh, dark roast
I have always loved Peet's coffee. I grew up in the East Bay in the 60s and 70s and loved sitting on the bench outside the store with a strong cup of French roast. I am delighted to be able to purchase this amazing grind in a large size for a great price and have it delivered to my porch!

No more Starbucks, Peet's gets a new customer.
Been floundering because I used to only buy whole bean French Roast from Starbucks. They failed me. I have been buying alternatives for some months like Italian Roast which tends to always be in stock. However, Starbucks also doesn't like to stay open late anymore and sometimes closes before the closing time, so I just decided they don't need my money anymore. Went through a few bags of alternative coffees, none really got me excited about their roast flavor like a good French Roast. However, this larger bag for the same price was a gamble I could make with next day shipping. The coffee came fresh, and very rich and flavorful as a French Roast. I can drink Peet's and forget about Starbucks French Roast forever now since they have also.

Best flavor
I love this coffee for my daily latte. I've tried a lot of different coffees, to me Peet's french roast has the best flavor over their other varieties and other brands. The package I got was not particularly fresh, was roasted about 30 days prior to my receiving it but I don't think you will do much better than that.

Forget any other brand
I have to say, when it's wake up time, well, it's wake up time, and this does the trick, with a good drip coffeemaker. Forget the top Seattle brands, Peets is THE smoothest French Roast you can buy. I look forward to my mornings just for this. My wife is secondary to my fast move to the coffee pot! love this stuff.

Ours came in almost exactly one month old.
We normally purchase from their site but we got it here to try out because you get 4 more ounces (20 total) for about $5 less than a lb on their site. Also, we get free Prime shipping. On their site, it's $5 to ship UPS Ground (which takes over a week). So we know exactly what it should taste like.At one month old (versus a week, getting it from their site), taste difference was negligible. It tasted a bit more like the roasting components/less like the coffee. That is it.Well worth the $10 less for four ounces more and faster. And that's not to mention the 5% back we get for using our Amazon Prime Store Card.

Significantly increases my ability to concentrate & has very even calming effect on me. No jitters.
I have been drinking Peets French Roast since 1998. I’ve tried their other roasts, but always come back to their FRENCH Roast. I get the whole bean and grind it, just before making espresso. It significantly increases my ability to concentrate, and has a very even, calming effect on me. No jitter.I was first introduced to it, while working at Lucent (Bell Labs). There was a group there that had an espresso machine and Peets French Roast. I would have a double shot twice a day. The group included Ken Thompson & Dennis Richie (inventors of the UNIX Operating System), Brian Kernighan (he and Dennis Richie wrote the C programming language) as well as other famous technical people.
