Rothco Molle Modular Vest

This appears to be a really well-made, sturdy vest that's worth the price. It's very solid, keeping gear secure and feeling snug. I have it attached to a loadbearing belt and it sits comfortably and confidently after a little buckle adjustment. Intending to use this for Search & Rescue purposes, only time will tell if it holds up under the work. If I don't follow up complaining about it, that means it's done its job!One thing to keep in mind is that the picture for "Coyote Tan" appears to be MUCH lighter and browner than what I received. I would call the picture "desert tan", which coyote tan is markedly different. Coyote is far darker with a greenish/gold hue, and really doesn't look anything like the picture. I confirmed with Army Universe (great company, by the way) and they confirmed the Coyote being sold doesn't look anything like the picture.Update - A good vest, rugged and comfortable over long periods. However I had to put it aside due to the design of the vest, which has metal supports near the shoulders. This made it impossible to wear with a backpack of any weight. (My shoulders would be sore for days after using it.) It's also particularly hot during Vegas summers. None of that is the vest's fault though, I was using it for purposes it wasn't designed. Keeping the original 5 stars.

As a Marine Corps Veteran, I expect a lot from my gear and this vest lives up to it. I think I saw Rothco brand in the PX, but not 100% sure I've been out for 6 years.I bought this vest as shooting vest; I have attached molle pouches to hold 6 M4 magazines, 2 pistol magazines, and a Blackhawk Serpa holster for my Beretta. The vest distributes the weight evenly (for those who know, 180 rounds+ isn't light) as long as your setup isn't lopsided. Overall, the stitching is very durable, but I haven't been low-crawling or running the "O Course" in the vest.It is a one size fits most with heavy-duty nylon adjustable straps on the side to tighten/loosen around the waist and hook and loop fasteners on the shoulders to tighten/loosen around the chest. The hook and loop fasteners on the shoulders are nice because you can adjust the shoulders to have a rounded contour rather than two distinct front and back pieces meeting in a "V". I am 5'9" and 165 lbs, and like most other military gear, I had to almost tighten the straps completely for it to fit snugly against my frame. This vest will definitely fit much larger individuals.The back of the vest is covered with plenty of molle space to mount a hydration system or whatever else you might want to attach. It is designed that if you are wearing a pack over the vest, you don't have to worry about buckles or straps digging into your back.The vest has attachments where you can install a "war belt" or tactical belt, whatever you want to call it. I feel the belt is unnecessary and glad it didn't come with the vest. I don't know if anyone still uses those things or not, but I hated them.The only complaint I have of the vest is in the shoulder padding. Underneath the "D" rings there are very stiff metal rods inserted, probably 4" long, 1 on each side. I have no idea what practical application they have, but I took an exacto knife and made a tiny incision to remove these rods and resealed it with Gorilla Glue. Removing these rods gives the vest a better fit on my chest.I am satisfied with this vest for my purpose and would recommend it to anyone who needs a high-quality, military grade vest.

I like it its put together well and I think it could take a licking.I only wish that it came in a larger size.Im a big guy and it is a little tight in some places.But a good vest an worth the price.

This is a great tactical vest. I purchased this for Airsoft, but its made well enough that it could probably serve in an actual military capacity. It won't stop a bullet and is in no way a replacement for a military issued plate carrier, but its definitely an option.NOTES:- Don't be dumb like me and put it on backwards the first few times.- The 3rd or 4th MOLLE strap down near the zipper is actually sewn in so it can't be used. It's easy enough to bypass while still allowing the item to be secured though.

This vest impressed me. It's a fraction of the cost of a 5.11 vest or similar brand, yet it's almost the same quality of construction. If I were to give it a rating on a scale of 1-10 compared to a $200-250 vest (with the $250 vest being a 10), I'd give this one a 9. Heavy duty stitching and in areas where it's important, it's double-stitched. I loaded it up with 2 x 6-mag pouches for a total of 12 fully-loaded 30-rd mags (5.56mm ammo). It distributed the weight well. Mind you, I combined this vest with a tactical belt which you're going to want to do anyway. A good belt helps secure it around your waist and helps keep the vest in place when fully loaded. Anyway, I'm 5'8" tall, 195 lbs. 46" chest, 36" waist. This vest adjusted to fit me perfectly.

fits great, adjustable everywhere it would need adjusting. I use it for hunting because I got tired of the phany packs & backpacks. I wanted everything on my person within quick access. I ran my grunt call lanyard through the molle doesn't snag on the stocks of my rifles or shotguns. haven't used it for archery season yet, will update.

I love this. Perfect fit for my CAF Olive Drab airsoft kit. Quality seems good (Praise be Rothco!), totally new, no tears, rips, or frays.- Adjustable at sides (straps) and shoulders (velcro)- Easily fits me with very little adjustment from the smallest size, and I'm 6'2 and 200lbs. This should fit larger guys without any issues.- COMFY. Honestly, I *like* wearing this vest, it fits in the right place.
