I should have bought one long ago
I'm the pitching coach for my son's Little League team, so I catch the pitchers at practice. I don't wear full catcher's gear, but after I noticed I was consistently taking fastballs on just one ankle, I bought this instead of full catcher's shinguards.What a difference. Lightweight, easy to slip on, and now fastballs bounce off it while I hardly notice. If it works this well for me, it must be great for its intended use with batters as well.

NO MORE OUCH !!!
Begone yee swollen toes and feet. I bat lefty and right and that lead foot gets nailed 1 out of 2 outings,I wont have to hobble about any more,it works GREAT ! Originally I ordered 2 guards so when batting L or R I didn't have to swap them,although on/off is a cinch.I lost one,somewhere so I just ordered a replacement.I figure 1 foul tip on the top of the foot,justifies the fair price.

Great protection
My daughter took a pitch to the ankle before getting this shield. Too many drs visits not to get one. Worked great when she got back on the field.

Very comfortable
So far the ankle guard works as advertised and is very comfortable, even when running. Its so comfortable in fact, that I almost forgot it was on when I took the field for defense! I haven't hit the ball off of the guard yet, but the guard is made well and feels very sturdy, so I don't think there will be a problem, or a bruise!!

Great for the price.
Well made, doesn't cover like an Evoshield but it's half the cost. The toe protector plate is removable.
