Abu GarciaBlue Max Low Profile Baitcast Reel and Fishing Rod Combo, 7'

I was amazed with how with the way they packaged this thing, just the rod and reel combo with a plastic bag somewhat around it, and thrown in a big empty box with tons of space for it to move around in and possibly get damaged, no packing peanuts or any type of cushioning, oh they did leave a piece of cardboard stapled around the tip, since that is the most likely spot for it to break. But somehow it arrived in one piece, the only damage I could see is just two little markes on the top of the reel where the paint had gotten rubbed away. But this Abu Garcia Blue Max baitcaster combo looks very nice. It's a lower end model, I believe originally only to be sold at Wal-Mart, but it seems to be a pretty nice setup, especially for the price. Once I land some lunkers with this thing I'll update this and let u know if I would recommend this or not.

I order 2 of these rods and when they came in one of the rods were broken, so I sent it back and received a new one. The second time I took this rod out fishing I literally snapped in half while setting the hook! I have owned many ABU Garcia rods and reels so this was a disappointment. I am currently submitting a claim with the manufacturer to see about replacing this rod. Depending on how this goes will determine if I purchase anymore fishing equipment from them.

The rod arrived unscathed, and my son has a great Christmas gift.

This rod is excellent for a large variety of fish but not for anything over 25 pounds.
