FREEDOM!!
Last summer I designed the sets for our VBS program and only had corded glue guns to work with. I do not like being on a leash! Having to drag an extension cord all of the the place to be able to glue the heck out of the waterfall I was building out of Amazon boxes and paper was so irritating! Since I was under time restraints I just had to suck it up and deal with it but as soon as I was done I was online looking for a cordless glue gun.I have Makita drills so I already have batteries, which is why I chose this one. My battery slipped right into place with no issues and the gun heats up fast! With that big battery on it it does make for a much heavier gun than your typical corded glue gun but the trade off is the freedom to move around with it. It's fairly balanced but you might experience some fatigue if your battery is heavy. Just be aware of that.It does heat up fast and even so gluing with it is as you'd expect. With the battery attached I just stand it up on that, no need for a stand. It does dribble a little once it's heated so I stand it on a silicone mat to catch the dribbles. I will say, for most of my smaller crafting I do opt for the corded glue guns just because they are smaller, have a more detailed tip and are easier to maneuver in the little areas I'm using them for but for larger jobs this glue gun is fantastic. It's a matter of using the right tool for the right job and this glue gun is for bigger jobs where you need the freedom to move around. Can you use it for little spaces and detailed gluing? Yes, but it's easier to finesse the little guns than this bad boy so I opt to have more than one glue gun. This also doesn't have hi/low options so if that's something you need you won't find it here.I'm gearing up to do VBS again and I'm looking forward to being off leash! I 100% would buy this again.

Great cordless option!
was very surprised at how well this works, heats up very fast much better than a corded option, and works perfect with Milwaukee batteries

Not bad! Good value. Some minor feed issues
This is okay for the money. I've used many hot melt adhesive applicators over the years - including the high-end 3M variants intended for production line use. (So, I've got a decent baseline to compare to.)For the money, this one is decent. It's handy, uses a battery system I already own, and heats up in an acceptable amount of time. Ooze is pretty good, and flow rates are acceptable once it's hot.I've had some issues with feeding though. Sometimes, the unit will NOT feed with the trigger; you must fuss with it to get it running. This is frustrating when you already have some glue down and are now on a tight deadline. Not 100% sure what the root cause of this is yet. If you want something that can lay down a super consistent bead day in and day out under time pressure, this may not be the right tool for you. If you want to do more gross-level repairs, some crafty stuff for kids school projects, and stick crap together for fixtures and the like, it's perfect! It's not a professional-level tool, but for I still use the crap out of it, and I would buy it again. I mean, it's 20 bucks!! :-)

Great glue gun
No complaints at all about this product but just one major issue. This works extremely well that everyone seems to keep borrowing it!! No more needing an outlet to complete crafts or building projects so the convenience is worth the cost.

Just WOW!
If I could give 6 stars I would. You do need to have Makita 18v batteries in your arsenal of tools, we do…many! This is not a Makita item but it runs on standard 18v Makita batteries. Quality and build could pass as a Makita item.! This was a game changer for us during Halloween setup. Before getting this gun we would have multiple glue guns plugged in and calling “is there a glue gun anywhere? Then you would have to have to unplug it and use it while its hot and get it plugged back in somewhere. While we didn’t measure how long this unit runs on a charge, its roughly an hour with a 3Ah battery and well over an hour if we used the 5A battery. But so nice to be able to hot swap and it heats up fast so it was never an issue. If I had two very small suggestions:1. I wish for a low power /standby mode to extend its run time. We often have multiple guns on all day. It would be nice to have a standby 50% temp mode.2. For the power indicator light to flash brightly when the battery is getting low.Other than that this hot glue gun is perfect! Buy one, you will not regret it.

Impressive!
I have not owned a hot glue gun in a long time, so I didn't know what to expect. Will my Makita batteries honestly fit this unit? How long will it take to heat up? How does the trigger feel? I have to say I am very impressed. It is heavy duty enough to feel stout, but not unwieldy. It snugly fits my Makita batteries just like any other tool I have. I feel like I have very good control over the flow of glue coming out with the trigger, and the application tip where the glue comes out is more precision than I had thought it would be. I'm able to lay a very precise bead of glue. Most importantly, it heats up FAST! Using the smallest battery I have, it heated up enough to dispense glue (within probably 15-20 seconds from cold). This is critical in my mind, because if it takes a while to heat up every time I want to use it, I likely won't use it as much, so I'm excited.
