Interested in psychology, biology, feminism? READ THIS BOOK!
I love this book! It's informative, personal, timely, easy-to-understand, and hilarious! My husband can attest that I laughed out loud numerous times and then re-read the passages to him because I just had to share what I'd read with someone else.Informative:Each chapter is informative without being unnecessarily long -- the author does not over-explain. I learned new and intriguing information about how hormones impact human behavior on every page.Personal:The author draws on examples from her own life as the mother of twins, which really personalizes the book. This is not a collection of dry academic articles. It's an intimate discussion of how hormones impact human life.Timely:The author explains how an increasing scientific understanding of female hormones has impacted society over time and how it is impacting society in the present day. Fascinating stuff!Easy-to-understand:You do not need to have a background in biology or psychology to understand this book. Estrogen is "the big one," Progesterone is "the double dealer," luteinizing hormone as "the bungee jumper," and gonadotropin-releasing hormone as "the stage manager" who runs the show (p. 61).Hilarious:SO funny. And serious. But seriously funny. My favorite quote: "No one wants to tell the kids what happened to the remains of Charlotte the spider (of Charlotte's Web) after she spun her miraculous web to save Wilbur the pig, then had her babies and gracefully passed. In reality, Charlotte's cheerful, tiny offspring, which appear at the end of the story, would have devoured their mother's dead body as their first meal, as newly hatched spiders are known to do" (p. 194).

Fantastic Non-Fiction Must Read
Fantastic book- must read for all women (and men!) that want to better understand how hormones affect behavior. Fascinating read I plan on sharing with as many friends as possible. Haselton is a fantastic writer, bringing in hard science, fact-based analysis, and personal commentary to tell the story of hormonal intelligence.

Deceptive title
This book was not what I thought it was. I was looking for real information and not personal political beliefs.

Misleading Title
A more aptly worded title could be - Estrogen: an evolutionary narrative that could fit behavioral changes linked to the ebb and flow of this hormone.Estrogen, with a hat tip to a small handful of other hormones that are directly linked to a woman's cycle, is the only hormone explored in this book. It's an easy and quick read sprinkled with humor. What it does discuss could be much more concise. I did learn a few interesting things from the read, but this is only one cog in the wheel of an elaborate network of hormones.

Brilliant book
The book reveals the mastermind of the new gynocentric sociolar order. How modern women think and act exclusively for their own good. Must read!

Nails it.
Love how Martie's translates research into plain English and real life impacts with such ease. So much food for thought about my own hormonal intelligence, and how to notice it in operation!

A great read about hormonal behaviours
I had a question in my mind - how could one become better at dealing with people, using a knowledge of hormonal behaviours? I wondered if this book would provide me with suggestions and recommendations. It doesn't (at least not to the level I would have liked to), but it does make a very good read on what happens hormonally to girls and ladies. I found the book both informative on the subject and very easy to read. It was indeed quite interesting, especially reading about the results of studies, which gives it a bit more substance. Overall a great read, and use the information to create your own strategies for yourself (if you are a woman) and for dealing with ladies at different stages of their cycle (whether you are a man or a woman).

brilliant, and clever book by Prof
A witty, brilliant, and clever book by Prof. Haselton. This book includes scientific support for ideas discussed, ideas which are grounded in psychological research. The idea of Darwinian Feminism is brilliant, and I think Haselton should be applauded for this book! Great read!
