I am an amateur knife sharpener with freehand but this sharpener produces professional results with a decent understanding of the steel your sharpening and stone set. The engineering that went into this is amazing: it is compactable and that allows me to store it in an Apache hard case for storage/portability. It takes very little time to set up and the adjustable dial compensates for different thickness stones/strops. I do have to hold the base while sharpening as the pull strokes will see the unit want to tip forward but that comes with the small footprint of the unit. The build quality and features justified the price. I primarily sharpen blades 5 inches or less and this will last a lifetime.

Everything else seems to be here but very disappointed

I bought this sharpener to sharpener small 1/2 inch Swiss army knifes at 15 degrees but it won't do It hits the clamp and hard to set the knife I have a wicked edge and it's much better easier to use but the quality is excellent

you can get a better option for less than a quarter of the money for this one...
