Easy to replace. It was the same size as the original one. Everything was compatible and unit and fan came back on after replacing. Sorry didn’t get a picture or video.

This power well capacitor worked properly and helped restore performance to the AC or heat pump system. After installation, the unit started and ran more consistently without hesitation. The build quality feels solid for a replacement component. Installation should be handled carefully if working around electrical systems, but overall it’s a dependable part that solved the issue effectively.

Worked as described. I keep a couple of these on hand because they seem to go out at the most inconvenient time. Easy swap to get the AC unit back up and running. I would recommend.

I can't stress how easy this was to do and how I saved myself almost $450.00!!! I have a Trane unit which has a diagnostic diode on it that flashes at various patterns depending on what the trouble code is. I determined that the problem was a faulty run capacitor. I had a suspicion that the run capacitor was failing (which is rare, capacitors either work or don't work) and wasn't supplying enough volts to "start" and keep the fan spinning on the outside compressor. I was able to turn the unit on and use a stick to push start the fan blade to keep it spinning until the capacitor crapped out again and the fan would stop. I called around to price some repair options and the average response I received was that it would cost $125.00 to come out and diagnose the problem (even though I told them what the trouble code was indicating), and then if it was the capacitor, it would cost an additional $375.00 to replace it. Keep in mind that this happened on the Friday before Labor Day weekend, a reason which repair companies use as an excuse to Jack-up their rates dramatically. Not wanting to spend that kind of money, I set out to repair the problem myself. I am quite handy and versed in electronics, but I assure you, that even a blind quadriplegic monkey could have made this repair. I shopped around locally for a capacitor that fit the specs of my unit. You could simply look at the markings on the existing one in the unit and just purchase the exact same one. I chose to go with what the manufacturer recommended and discovered that the one in the unit was a super low quality capacitor that barely met its needs. Surely enough, local supply companies only sell to licensed HVAC technicians and so I turned to the internet to find what I needed. Luckily this particular part was listed as a PRIME item and also offered Saturday shipping (at an additional cost). Long story short, for around $30.00 (including shipping!) and in about 5 minutes, I replaced the capacitor and restored cool air to my home! Watch some YouTube videos if you're unsure exactly what to do. Save yourself money but please be safe around any electrical appliance you try to repair and use proper safety techniques.

Our HVAC system started having trouble cooling the house. When I checked it, I noticed the fan on the unit was running slowly. I did some research and found that the issue could be the capacitor, the fan, or both. I inspected the unit and confirmed that the part number for the capacitor was E229850, then used that information to find a replacement. The installation was not too difficult, and now the HVAC runs like new. The only thing worth noting is that this capacitor has a slightly larger diameter, despite having the same rating as the old one. So be aware that you may need to mount it differently.
