Q: What is the loop made of?

It is made of Silicone and ABS Plastic.

Q: What are the exact dimensions of the base of the loop?

The loop is adjustable so there are no "exact" dimensions. The size of the base that attaches to your phone is 3. 25 inches. The flexible strap is the same size, but one end slides up to create an adjustable loop. The widest the loop can be is about an inch and a half, but you'd need a skinny finger to get it in there; the part of my finger that I use (the space between the second and third knuckle) is 2.5 inches and fits comfortably. The maximum height of the loop is 1 inch.

Q: How strong is the stand compared to a popsocket?

I have never used a pipsocket, but i can say that the stand on the AOLIY is stirdy and functions fine every time I use it as a stand.
