Question 1

is this only for women use?

Accepted Answer

Definitely not. Probiotics are beneficial bacteria for your large intestines. Both men and women have large intestines so men can benefit from probiotics just like men.

Question 2

It says "ships and sold by Amazon", does Amazon (like other sellers) keep it in a temperature controlled environment until they ship it?

Accepted Answer

We do not ship via Amazon. We fulfill our own from the factory 3 miles away. It is fresh from their freezers in the morning the day we ship it to you.

Question 3

How long this probiotic can stay unrefrigerated?

Accepted Answer

For as long as you would like. Or at least up until the expiration date. It is a common misconception that probiotics require refrigeration. They're only specific strains that require it, and this is not one. Virtually every probiotic out there is shelfstable. Unfortunately, health food stores and grocery stores have caused a common misconception that these products need to be refrigerated because they keep them refrigerated.Hope that helps!Vitamins2YouProduct Specialist Team

Question 4

Hi, Does this product needs refrigeration? Please advise

Accepted Answer

According to the official NOW Foods website: "Even under ideal storage conditions, the number of colony forming units will slowly decline as months go on. For example, a typical number is a drop of 5% per month when packed in glass and non-refrigerated. Refrigeration will prolong the potency and viability of most probiotics to maintain higher counts over a longer period of time."http://www.nowfoods.com/Quality/Quality-Notes/088797.htmIn other words, it is not strictly necessary for the item to be refrigerated, as even under non-refrigerated conditions, the level of potency decline is minimal (5% over an entire month). Yes, the item may not be shipped with ice packs, but the time spent in shipping, even if it were an entire week, would only result in less than a 2% potency decline, and this decline is already accounted for, if you continue to read the page I already linked to: "In order to meet label claims for probiotic CFU numbers, manufacturers including NOW Foods generally add an overage to allow for the natural decline in numbers over time"In other words, even though it may be advertised as 25 Billion, the number is actually higher, to account for the natural decline, refrigerated or otherwise. Also, to address the "false advertising" claim, there are multiple versions of this product: 25 billion, 50 billion, even 100 billion. http://www.nowfoods.com/Probiotic-10andtrade;-25-Billion-50-Veg-Capsules.htmhttp://www.nowfoods.com/Probiotic-10-50-Billion-50-Veg-Capsules.htmhttp://www.nowfoods.com/Probiotic-10-100-Billion-30-Veg-Capsules.htm
