ASICS Mens Gel-Nimbus 19

I am a very long time Asics Gel Nimbus customer. The first pair purchased was the 11's about 6-7 years ago when I got serious about running. I have owned model 11, 13 (2), 14 (2), 15 (3), 16 (2), 17 (3) and a pair of 18s. I have run over 25 half marathons and one full marathon all in Asics Gel Nimbus. I think that would make me somewhat of a fanboy. Now to the problem that everyone has addressed on the 19's. EVERY pair aforementioned I have purchased men's size 8 D. I have a normal gate, normal arch, and a generally narrow foot. Size 8 is what I have always purchased and they always fit fairly well. This HAS changed with the 19s. I read all the reviews, and was fairly discouraged by the what I read and even found some new 17s for the past season in light of this. However, my 17's are getting close to the magic retirement age of 400 miles, so I really needed to get new shoes. Here's what I did: I took advantage of Amazon's free shoe return with Prime, and purchased several different pairs of Nimbus 19s to really check out the sizes. As expected, size 8 were too darn small, just like everyone said. So they did make a substantial noticeable change to the size for sure. I went to 8.5, and guess what, the toe box was still too narrow for my narrow foot. How about 8 2E, nope, still too short. Finally, I had one last (and I mean last) try, and purchased the 8.5 2E. These fit, and I mean fit extremely well. In fact, after only a minute on the treadmill, I discovered that the sole was better fitting than any other Nimbus to date. I went on to whip off a 5k on the treadmill and to my amazement, they were outstanding. I was on the verge of giving up fully on the model and Asics, but it was all about getting the right fit. In closing, I'd say that Asics made huge mistake in their sizing on the 19's, and it cost them dearly, If you've noticed the 20's are already out before the new year, which usually never happens. They obviously know it was a mistake and are trying to quickly correct the issue with a new model. However, the bright side to this is that if you know the size that fits, you can snag a pair at a deep discount just now. Which I just did in buying a second pair. I'd recommend these shoes, but try a few pair and return what doesn't work. Also, make sure you actually RUN in them to test them out. They are exceptionally comfortable to run in, if you get the right size.

This brand and model is the only one my husband will wear. It is difficult to find size 13 in a neutral color for work. We have stopped looking elsewhere as we know sooner or later one will turn up here. Getting two pairs of black ones were like hitting the jackpot for him. As a lab tech for a college, he does not have to dress like a professor but he needs to be neat and with his high arches, he wants to be comfortable scrambling around on his feet all day. These are the answer. I wish he would get at least one more pair so he would have a year of shoes worn all day with good midsoles. Asics last pretty well so he can always pass them on after 5 months and go for the renewed comfort of new again. If you are a man with narrow feet and high arches, these seem to have been the best for him. If you are a woman who heads for the men's to get the extra width, FORGET IT. Asics run narrow. It has worked for me many times but not with Asics. I hope they make a woman's shoe some day with a wider forefoot and narrow heel. In the meantime, my husband is very happy.

Best shoe I have owned. I’m 47 and decided to take up running again. I quickly realized it hurts. Everything. Most of the aches were my Achilles and knees. I did some reasearch and found these. Went to Dicks and they were on sale for $140 but out of my size. They run 1/2 size big...or small I usually wear an 11...11-1/2 fit perfect. I left Dicks that day with a $100 pair of Brooks GTS 17’s which were high on the list of Achilles pain alleviation. The pain was still there. Shoot. I found these on Amazon a couple weeks later on sale for $70 so I bought them. I currently just run on a tread mill but these shoes are life changing. Amazing...no pain anywhere. I’m not much of a review guy but I ran for 30 minutes yesterday and vowed to take the time.

As most reviews indicated, these shoes run small. I ordered the 10.5M, which is my true size. I would have ordered an 11, but they were $50 more for the same shoe in that size. They were hard to get into at first, but I loosened the laces, got them on, then went to the gym to work out. The shoes are snug but got more comfortable as I wore them. I have an old pair of Nimbus 14's that have served me well. They were quite snug as well, but always gave my feet great support. I think I'm going to like these shoes. They are very comfortable in spite of fitting a little tight. A serious runner may have issues with the fit, but I'm not a runner, I just do the treadmill and elliptical machines, and for me these shoes will fit the bill.

I am a runner and always choose shoes with a lot of protection to help prevent future knee problems. I have known many people who suffer knee problems/injury because they run on pavements without the proper shoes/knee protections. After so much research(OCD), I decided to give Nimbus a go, and they are very comfortable even though they are thicker than the other running shoes I tried(and I tried some of them- Adidas, Nike, New Balance). It is heavier than the others too(even to the Asics Cumulus and FuzeX I own), but it is exactly what I wanted and needed. I also got size 10(usually wear size 9 1/2) because many reviewers across the net say it is very narrow on the toe box, which is true. So size up by half an inch(an inch would be overkill unless you really have wide feet), and it is perfect. Oh and the white one you see is more silver/light grey than the pics, and as expected, they get dirty very easily, but looks great in white joggers!!!

I have been wearing Nimbus 18's for a while and they were my favorite shoe ever. So I was reluctant to try the Nimbus 19's. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right? However I figured there must have been a Nimbus 1 through 17 and the 18 was better, so maybe the 19 is an improvement. I emailed ASICS customer service and asked why I should bother with the 19's. They said: "The Gel-Nimbus 19 has been updated in regards to the overlay and upper, but most importantly, the series now incorporates FlyteFoam technology for enhanced cushioning." So the last time I needed new shoes, I ordered some 18's and some 19's so I could make a real comparison. I have had them both for about a month. I wear each of them every other day. Here is what I found. When it comes to cushioning, I found them to be comparable. That is to say, they are both outstanding. It was the upper that really sold me on the 19's though. I always felt like I had to kind of cinch down the 18's to be snug. But the 19's fit me like a glove. Your mileage may vary but for me, the 19's are the best fit I have ever had in a shoe, so long as I got them a half size larger than I usually do. (I had to get the 18's a half size larger to fit in the heel, the toe wasn't as perfect, at least for me.) So when all the dust settles, the ASICS Gel-Nimbus 19's are my new favorite shoe. And if a 20 should ever come out, I will definitely give them a shot at unseating my current champions.

It's an Asics shoe, so it's a good shoe for running or even just walking or working out at the gym. I would give it 5 stars, were it not made in China. Everything made in China is junk and this is NOT because China is unable to produce an excellent product, but because first of all, they hate westerners...especially Americans. (I know this because they are quite open about it when you actually live with them and are taught by them); second...the wages of the Chinese amount to approximately $1.00-$3.00 UDS per day. How dedicated would you be trying to survive on those wages? And third, because they despise America and Americans, I am convinced that they send us products that are inferior to that which they send to other nations with which they have a more equitable and respectful relationship. I go out my way to NOT purchase anything from China, but unfortunately, almost all athletic shoes are now made in that country. If you use this shoe or any athletic shoe made in China, expect to get no more than one year's use out of it, before you should replace it to protect the fascia in your feet, your joints of your legs and hip. Parenthetically, as a young man, I was a “runner” for 22 consecutive years, covering a distance of 6 or more miles a day, 5-7 days a week for a total of more than 33,000 miles. The Asics, Nike, New Balance, and other shoes I experimented with at that time were ALL made in America and I would force myself to run no more than 500 miles in a pair of shoes; but, even at that distance the shoe was virtually like new in its appearance. I use athletic shoes now that are made in China in the gym lifting weights and walking on a treadmill for 30-40 minutes 3-4 times a week and after a year, the entire shoe has broken down, is heavily worn and inadvisable to use for any reason.

As an under-pronation runner, these have been my go-to shoe for the better part of 7 years now. I saw a good deal on the 19’s and got my 4th pair of Nimbus’s, in my usual 11.5 2E, mistakingly, without reading reviews first. The 19 definitely runs smaller, so I returned and got a 12 4E. Well worth it. The fit is what I’m used to and my feet are happy with the same comfort I’m used to with the Nimbus. ASICS says they’ve improved the fit in the 20’s, so we’ll see, but if you’re getting 19’s, half size and width up (sorry 4E’s).

Compra asegurada porque conocía el producto. Como en todas las zapatillas de la marca Asics, hay que pedir un número más del que se calza habitualmente. En zapatos calzo un 42-43. En deportivas algo más. Asics un 45. Son realmente cómodas, para quienes no conozcan la marca o el modelo, son de las mejores que tienen para correr, con pisada neutra. Muy buena amortiguación. Llegaron antes de lo previsto, y las he podido comprar a buen precio después de buscar y esperar.

Comodísimas, superligeras. Regalo para mi novio de Navidad y aniversario. Pedí una talla más que la suya porwue leí en comentarios que si no suelen apretar demasiado. Van geniales así

premessa: adoro le asics, a mio parere le migliori scarpe da running sul mercato (come qualità, stile, ammortizzamento, calzabilità, rapporto qualità / prezzo) quindi la mia recensione va presa con il dovuto beneficio di inventario. detto questo... un bravo runnner non dovrebbe valutare le scarpe nuove dopo solo un'uscita, ma le nimbus sono fuori dal comune. morbide, comode, leggere, inaspettatamente reattive... mai provato niente di simile. e dire che usavo le cumulus, mica delle infradito. cambio di scarpa senza soluzione di continuità: sono talmente malleabili che dopo 10 km sembravano le mie scarpe di sempre e alla fine nemmeno l'ombra di quelle vesciche che pure le vecchie cumulus ogni tanto mi lasciavano. la qualità del prodotto (incollature e rifiniture) è davvero eccezionale: ottimo rapporto qualità / prezzo. unico neo: poco aerate. occhio al collo, poi: le scarpe hanno un profilo basso e, se allacciate troppo strette, tirano un po' sull'articolazione. va detto che la linguetta è ben imbottita, quindi non è un problema eccessivo o irrisolvibile.

J ai commandé la chaussure nimbus 19 en taille 45 et cela me correspond bien. Pour info j ai déja eu les nimbus 14, 16, et 17, en taille 44,5 (la paire de 17 m a un peu serré sur le bout du pied pendant les 150 premiers kilomètres ce qui m a poussé à commander la 19 en 45. Resultat elle est plus etroite encore que la 17 mais je pense 1 ou 2 mm à peine plus longue. J invite donc tous les possesseur habituel de nimbus à prendre une demi taille de plus que leur paire habituelle La nimbus 19 en taille 45 pese 12 grammes de moins que la 17 en taille 44,5 La 19 est donc plus etroite pour le pied mais beaucoup mieux matellassé sur le pourtour de la cheville. Un vrai chausson ! Par ailleurs le modele me semble plus dur en terme d amortis que les autres nimbus que j ai eu. D ailleurs il y a clairement moins de gel visible sur l arriere de la chaussure. Ccl : Bonne chaussures plus dynamique que les précedentes versions mais peu être moins adaptés à un coureur ayant le pied large ou un coureur de plus de 85 kilos
