Good to Great in God's Eyes: 10 Practices Great Christians Have in Common Paperback – March 1, 2012

This book had a lot of really practical things to consider. I have a lot of respect for the author and his honesty of things he has struggled with was a great encouragement to me.

This book provides a good refresher for seasoned Christian's as well as a wonderful starting point for new believers. Knowing that God wants us to have great thoughts helps readers to re-frame their thinking based on the word of God. References about Great Thoughts are from writings of Apostle Paul which encourages us to think on whatsoever is true, honest, just, pure, lovely etc.(Philippians 4:8) The author explains the scripture and gives starting place to help believers know what God says about our past, our future and others. As readers study the word of God to gain a better perspective of who God is and what the word of God says about each area of our lives, we truly are changed from glory to glory. I am using this book as a bible study tool while working with youth and a way to build up my most holy faith in the promises of God and His great love for us. This book is truly a blessing.

I had already read this book several years ago and bought it again to give to a friend. I appreciate that at the end of each chapter in this book there are very practical steps you can take to immediately begin putting into practice the things talked about in the chapter. Also, it's written in a very easy to read style so it feels more like you are listening to someone talk rather than reading a book.

I would recommend this book for anyone wanting more of God in their lives and it gets people out of the rut of playing church. I highly recommend this reading if you have a desire to want more of God and are willing to strive for it. Read Chip's book and go from Good to Great in God's Eyes!! I found myself waiting on hearing from God. My prayer life has changed as I am going deeper and drawing closer to HIM.

Good to Great in God's Eyes will cause you to evaluate your life as a Christian, not be satisfied with good in your life and take steps to make your life great. How? Great thoughts, People, Books, Dreams in your life and developing great habits become a part of your life. Chip Ingram relates people, ideas and personal life altering steps in his life that can move you to develop healthy spiritual steps. We used the book in group and every participant rated it highly effective for changing their Christian walk.

This book sets forth the Biblical reasons that God wants you to be great, rather than mediocre. It has practical suggestions, solutions, and ideas so that you can put into practice what you learn from this book.For me it confirmed much of what I am doing with and for God plus it helped me too understand God's desire for all who follow Him to be and do greater things than our short sighted goals that we set for ourselves.

This book is divided into sections that are easily read throughout the week for a daily devotional type exercise. It is well written and includes personal stories of the author which makes it a very enjoyable book. I found myself laughing out loud at some of his experiences and becoming very thoughtful when pondering his deeper points. I highly recommend it to anyone who is seeking to live a more personal, joyous and meaningful Christian life.

Unlike most books that I read only once, this is a handbook not to be absorbed quickly, but to be read and re-read over a period of months, since each chapter challenges the reader to apply the learning in a way that will time to internalize. Chip Ingram has "walked this talk" himself and speaks with clarity and power. I ordered copies for my sons and their spouses.

Great book for those who are building their business.
