Burger Press Stainless Steel Hamburger Patty Maker Grill Griddle Flat

21 lbs (63 x 1/3lb) Patties in about 10min
I looked at quite a few presses while looking for something specific in my head. I don't like two piece presses. They often get the mince stuck in the cavity side. The other hinged presses are full of unsanitary crevasses and are just far too complicated in design and over thought. When I saw this, it matched what I thought I wanted. Almost exactly. But with so few reviews, even tho they were all 5 star, I took a chance. FINALLY, I'm satisfied with an Amazon risky purchase. This thing should be on America's Test Kitchen and I'm going to recommend that it does. - It's all one piece, all stainless, easy to use, easy to clean, never gets stuck, and extremely useful.I really don't like overworking ground meat. It makes for a less tender burger. This one does not over press, and paired with a food scale, it really does make a perfect patty.I just measured out 152g balls of mince beef, (1/3lb patties) on my food scale placed on wax paper. Place the press on top an he push until you feel enough resistance. The patties never got stuck to even need to eject it out of the press. It works more like the old nut chopper in the back of your cupboard.I will say, the measurements printed on the inside are useless because it is difficult to measure the beef in the device accurately before pressing it. Mainly, because you end up doing most of the work forming the patty before you press it. Which takes allot longer than using a food scale. But I was so happy with the press, I didn't even think of discounting that. And if you don't have a kitchen scale, or want to buy one, at least they still have the measurements as an option. But do yourself a favor and buy a scale, they're cheap and useful for all your recipes. It took less than 5min to clean. And after you rinse it, you can toss it in the dishwasher if you have one. I did mine by hand with ease.Bottom line, if you make a lot of burgers, or cater parties, this gets my top recommendation. I don't often write reviews, but after the 10th patty, I grabbed my phone to start taking photos as I knew I wanted to review it!

This really works
This makes the perfect, round, firm, thick or thin hamburger in one easy press. I made many in just a minute. I love this little press..

Here is how to use the upside down scale on this burger presser
I got this because I wanted to make perfectly shaped burgers that are 1/3rd pound. That is my favorite size. I realize it's a matter of personal opinion but I find that size to be not too big and not too small. So a 1/3rd burger is 151. grams. ( The scale with this is marked in grams). So the 150 gram line should be close enough. When I push it down to the 150 gram mark,,,,I have no way to lock it in place so I can add the meat. With one hand I am trying to hold it in place but its spring loaded and impossible to keep in place. Especially when you are pushing meat into it . And once the meat is in it you cant see any of the scale markings anymore. So as I see it,,,those scale lines give you a best guess. Actually after using it the way to do what I wanted is to use a kitchen scale. Weigh 151 grams and then squash them with this device. So unless I am missing something scale line markings are useless if you can not see them when the meat is inside the presser. You can see in my picture the burgers came out all different sizes. (should of used a kitchen scale). Now here is what may make your head hurt. Had those scale lines been flipped upside down meaning the lowest marking (100 grams) was closest to the presser this would of worked. You would put your meat into it until it reached the mark you wanted. If it was over that mark you knew you put too much in it and would take some out until when you pressed (with your hand) it was at whatever mark you wanted. So this may be a design mistake. And actually perhaps mine was marked upside down and all the rest are fine ? But in the event they are all marked this way here is how to do it and I only figured this out after studying it for this review. We have to use math !! Now I need 150 grams right !? So right next to the presser it is marked 400 grams. 150 minus 400 is 250. So I would fill the meat to the 250 line and thus have 150 grams. But on the positive note this did shape them perfect. And by pressing them hard they were able to retain that shape pretty close after grilling. Do note if you press them too hard the meat will come out of the bottom and look like a pancake. So I was real happy with the way my burgers looked with this device. And hey I was able to offer various sizes of burgers to my family. And too and the big reason I will give it 4 stars instead of three is that it cleaned super easy. I was just convinced this would be a nightmare to clean but shockingly it was a breeze. So I am indeed happy I got it and in the future I will have to remember to do the math or get a kitchen scale out ! Hope this was helpful and hope it was just mine that was marked upside down !
