Got the Job Done
This helped me look up and craft performance goals that pleased The Boss, so yay? It's a good reference guide, and there should be one in every office that subscribes to SMART goals and the like, but I wouldn't expect it to rejuvenate an office or actually improve performance, and I wouldn't suggest anyone read it cover-to-cover. It's really just a reference guide. If it's compatible with your office, I suspect it will take some of the stress out of each employee's performance-goal-crafting-process, as well as shave tens of minutes off of the time it takes them to do it.That was my experience, anyway. Enjoy!

Read this review before you buy.
The introductions are more useful than the stock phrases presented. Take for example “ensure all material used complies with copyright” or “inform customers of unavoidable delays” these are portrayed as perfect phrases for setting a performance goal.Well to any good manager out there, if your employee comes to you with a goal or phrase which effectively says ‘do the job to minimum level expected’ you need to coach and mentor that employee to strive for better.Part of what I oversee includes providing food, page 110 is Food Services; environment...an example of a performance goal is “keep table condiments fully stocked”. If at an annual review this was a target from an employee I would honestly tell them, “your goal if to do what is expected?”.This book may give an employer some stock phrases to give out to the snotty nosed 16 year old taking of their first job but not for people with employees of any real experience or pedigree.“Order stock to meet customer demand”...yeah, no brainer; not a performance goal a minimum expectation. Some of these are good to make you laugh at how to set the bar low for your staff.

Really really weak content
to be honest: what company could use that phrase: "ensure that there are zero instances of arriving at work under the influence of alcohol or drugs"?also a lot of no brainers included, nothing what one could think of by himself.my performance goal after reading that book: dont buy useless books any more!
