Great mouse
This is my first wireless mouse and I have to say i'm glad I made the switch. It's incredibly lightweight so takes some strain off my wrist due to a disability causing joint problems, my wrists being some of my most problematic joints. I also have small hands and it fits perfectly with it being a relatively small mouse, other than having to stretch my thumb to get to the button 10-12, but I have that with every MMO style mouse. The battery lasts me around 3/4 days before I have to put it on charge, and that's with between 8-10 hours of use a day, I also love that the RGB turns off when you're actually moving the mouse to save battery, since you won't see the colours under your hand anyway. As well as turning off when you haven't moved the mouse for longer than 5 minutes(I believe you can change the time through the software, same with the lights turning off when moving the mouse)

On the smaller side but a very good product
for referance I've been used to a Razer Naga for the past 5+ years, the Steel Series is both lighter and smaller, which for someone with bigger hands is a bit jarring to get used to but once you've used it for a few days it settles being feeling comfortable!Lighting effects are awesome, especially with the design of the top of the mouse.Hotkey buttons are a bit of a funny shape too if your used to a Naga or anything simalar, the middle row is very hard to hit in comparison to others, but again, you get used to it over time.Happy buyer overall!

AVOID
Update 8/7/24 - Mouse has ceased to work at all. refuses to connect in any of the 3 options. was suffering from constant connection losses until today and now it has just stopped working. dont waste your money on this rubbish.Original Review:the design is bad, the plasitc mesh design just allows dust and dirty particles into the inner parts of the mouse, which you cant get out.the side buttons are poorly placed, they are to far forwards making it hard to hit 1-3 comfortably and the shape of the buttons is uncomfortable.its light, thats a plus and the supplied cable works fairly well but it does not hold a decent charge, i am finding i have to put it on charge a couple times a day and even then it randomly drops it connection to my machine several times while gaming or just web browsing and i have to run it on the cable for a whlle before it decides it wants to work wirelessly again.its not a bad mouse but for the money, i would expect more. cant recommend this one sadly.

Good MMO-style mouse with a few caveats
Pros:- Good battery life and it charges quite fast when connected by wire- Lightweight, with the centre of gravity ending up quite close to the sensor- Solid wireless connection without any perceptible input lag- High degree of customisability for the buttons and other mouse functionalityCons:- The software is glitchy at times, making configuring the mouse more difficult than it should- No "offline profile" for when you connect it to a computer that doesn't have the SteelSeries software, it instead uses whatever profile you last had configured- Sometimes slow to come back up when the USB receiver is disconnected and reconnected- I wish it came with an included USB male-A to female-C adapter for the receiver (it does come with an USB-A to USB-C cable and a female-to-female USB-C adapter so you can use it with an USB-A port, but it's a clunky setup on a laptop for example)- Somewhat awkward button placement (for my hand at least), can't really find a good grip that allows me to hit both the 3 and 10 buttons without having to shift my hand

Oddly low quality, okay mouse
This mouse is not worth the money, and its quality is surprisingly subpar:When you first unbox the mouse, it feels great actually, and it still does, but when you start using it long-term you notice some really odd design decisions SteelSeries made that make it feel very cheap. Firstly the left and right click "paddles" when pushed down, especially when with a bit of force, creak like no other. They feel like they're not adequately attached to the mouse and it's squeaky plastic rubbing against plastic and clicking out of place. The scroll wheel is very embedded which makes it surprisingly difficult to push the scroll wheel left and right for the clicks. Speaking of the scroll wheel, the encoder in my mouse has broken after only 9 months. For every 5 ticks I scroll down, it scrolls up 4 ticks, it's infuriating to have to battle it to just scroll, and is unusable. Due to taking it apart in an attempt to fix it, SteelSeries won't even provide replacement parts to me (despite me offering to pay for them), and they will not offer any datasheet describing the encoder they use in the mouse for a DIY replacement. Which makes quite lacklustre support in my opinion. (For anyone wondering, it's a "5mm TTC Mouse Wheel Encoder", but you need to know how to solder to replace it).The mouse is well sized for my regular hand. The grip is a little slippery, especially when you have to grip it rather lightly due to the buttons on the side to avoid pressing a bunch of them, but that seems to be unavoidable on a mouse like the Aerox 9. Battery life is the most notable positive here. I rarely ever charge it, despite significant usage every day, and when I do it charges easily within only an hour. It seems like most of these gripes could be avoided if SteelSeries just allowed another gram or two of weight to reinforce the left and right click, and maybe raise the scroll wheel slightly using a bit more plastic, but it's a shame they didn't.
