Wonderful!
Such a well written book, I've passed it around to several friends and every single one enjoyed it. What an accomplished, brilliant, loyal, loving woman...RIP Jacqueline...

Pioneer Stock
Jacqueline was the most beautiful and cultured first lady of all time by a margin beyond measure, and likely for all time should this great nation continue. Clint Hill is of the pioneer stock that built and defended this best nation from a wild wilderness that once was. Sadly what passes for “American” and Liberty today is of demonstrably lesser quality and character than before.

The real story
This was a well written, insider's account of the life of one of the classiest of women to ever grace the halls of the White House. Thank you, Mr. Hill for sharing the inside story of JBK.

A wonderful journey in and of itself
Very much enjoyed Clint Hill’s book on travels w Jbk.Would have liked a more intimate portrait of some of the personalities. Most interesting was Mr Hill’s personal history accompanying jbk. Personally i didnt think the book needed quite as many photos but they were certainly fun to see. Enjoyed

A UNIQUE AND SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP
An indescribable bond. That's how Secret Service Agent Clint Hill, now 90, describes his relationship with Jackie Kennedy. While clearing out his home of more than 50 years, Clint Hill and his co-author Lisa McCubbin discovered a long forgotten steamer trunk under a bunch of junk in the garage. The story unfolds as they pull out a treasure trove of photos, gifts, and letters that bring back memories of Clint's adventures with First Lady Jackie Kennedy and her children when he was assigned to provide Secret Service protection from 1961 through 1964.An abundance of never-before-seen photos are intertwined with this fascinating and personal narrative which goes back and forth between 2019 and the 1960's. It's a fresh and revealing perspective of Jackie Kennedy as Clint remembers their times together away from the White House. From trips to Italy, France, the UK, Pakistan, India, Morocco, Latin and South America, his assignment ended with Mrs. Kennedy's move to New York City in 1964 as she tried to grapple with the grief and get her life back on track after the trauma of JFK's death. The photos add incredible depth to Clint's experience. My favorite is a candid shot of Jackie feeding spaghetti to Caroline in Ravello, Italy. Another great photo is Jackie and her group in an overloaded rowboat with Clint trying to balance it out. The expression on his face is priceless as he tries to stabilize the boat while Jackie laughs it all off. Miraculously the boat made it out. You can se how close it came to disaster. Clint did not have an easy job!The bond forged by Clint and Jackie was one of both love and respect. This is evidenced by the fact she made it a point to attend a ceremony at the Department of the Treasury just 10 days after the assassination to award Clint a medal for his heroism on November 22, 1963. In 1994 when Jackie passed away her children invited Clint to her interment ceremony at Arlington cemetery. They stated that their mother had always spoken of Clint with admiration and gratitude for his dedication to their welfare. They had invited Clint to stand in the front row but ever the humble person Clint stood to the side in the back.Deftly told, the book's narrative reveals a wealth of remembrances of Clint's and Jackie's remarkable relationship. Without question a page turner, this book will put a smile on your face and reinforce the values that are sorely lacking in today's times. Bravo Clint!

An interesting view into another era with one of its icons
I recall Jackie from my childhood when she was the most famous woman in the world. The traits that the author cites such as her intellect, thoughtfulness, attention to detail and great personal charm are also mentioned in other accounts of those who worked for her as personal assistants, cooks, etc. I respect that fact that Mr. Hill has drawn a personal portrait of her and others which I think still respects her privacy as I am sure there are details that he could have included but did not. While I am sure that it was very exciting to be in the whirlwind of Kennedy administration in the 1960s, particularly for an ordinary guy, it does concern me the extent to which Mr. Hill and other agents simply had to devote most of their waking hours to those they served. They were almost like servants at the palace in that regard. I also have to say that while Mr. Hill apparently recalls the memory warmly and with affection, the story of the 50 mile walk he took in his dress shoes really does not reflect well at all on President Kennedy.I recommend this book as a personal account of an American icon and an opportunity to go behind the scenes of life in the early 1960's. I respect Mr. Hill's loyalty and circumspection.

Interesting book
Clint Hill - the author - has written a number of books about his time in the Secret Service where he was part of the protection team for Jaqueline Kennedy which she was First Lady. This one is the most personal and covers the various trips they took overseas. It includes numerous photos taken by Jacqui (and others) many of them never seen before. It is a fascinating account of that period of history which promised so much but ended with the tragic assassination in Dallas in November 1963. Clint Hill is probably the last living witness to those events so it is fascinating to read this book.

Not much new
Very much a re-hash of their previous far more detailed and interesting publications. Both authors have written so well in the past about President Kennedy and his family, their time at the White House, and of course the tragic assassination of the President - and much more about Jacqueline Kennedy and her many travels. So this book really adds very little. But interesting to hear that in the end Clint Hill and Lisa McCubbin are now finally happily married.
