This is the best answer to trimming hedges and even minor tree trimming. - It even cuts small woody branches if you waited too long. We have 2.5 acres with a Large 6' tall Oleander the entire length on 1 side. It cut the thick branches and it felt like it had a full charge after trimming 200' of badly overgrown Oleander. You will tap out before the battery does. Super powerful too. Makes it so easy you won't hire a landscaper. Much lighter than gas models and no cord to drag around. Its perfect and affordable. Same cost as one small Landscaper bill

I was pleasantly surprised. I had thick narly bushes to trim back. 23 in all. This trimmer blew right through them. The battery lasted five bushes (6 foot tall or more) which took approximately 20 min each. It cut like butter. Plenty of power. The unjam feature worked as well. Ran into an over ½ inch branch and got stuck. Pushed the unjam button and kept on going. Some have complained about the saw blade tip being not great. And it isn't but I found that it did work on the branches I chose to use it on. So I think you just can't expect to much from it.You should be aware that this cordless in a bit on the heavy side due to the battery. But not overwhelming for me. You may have to rest more then when using a corded trimmer but I found it to be fine. I have not found anything I have had trouble cutting yet. I recommend it.

I have used this a few times now and like it. The battery life is excellent. I have hedges that wrap my backyard and was able to all of them with no problem on one charge and still had some juice left over. It is a little tiring on the arms holding it up for that length of time (2-3 hrs) but so was my electric one. The best thing with this one is I don't have to continually look where the cord is so I don't accidentally cut it. My hedges are up against a chain link fence so I need to go on my neighbors property to cut them. The battery definitely made it easier for me to do that as well. I was a little disappointed when I accidentally got the chain link fence with the blade. The metal blade bent a little and got a nasty mark in it. It all still worked but I needed to bend the blade back so it rest flat on the other one. This is a little disturbing to me as it indicates the metal used is a bit soft. I am not too sure how long the blades will stay sharp and the blades need to be sharp for this to work well. I imagine that it is probably like all the other hedge trimmers as my last trimmer had a similar issue just not as bad as this one. I had no need to hit the power button cutting my hedges. I did try the power button out though and was a surprised how it worked. The blades would stop moving then move again and stop. I bought this because of the cutting saw on the end of the blade. It does work but not as well as I expected it to do and took up part of the cutting blade. It is handy for cutting poison Ivy vines though. This cut some pretty thick branches without needing to use the saw or the power button. I hope to get a few years out it

These work great for corse evergreens! I had no issues trimming branches 1 inch or smaller! I would definitely recommend!

We do a lot of gardening in our overgrown yard, and I took a chance paying much more on this unit instead of cheaper corded or cordless ones. Now, after using it all over our yard on some pretty large, overgrown shrubs, I am so glad that I paid more for this powerful, cordless model. It works like a charm. Hasn't gotten stuck once on any good-sized branches. Mows through thick shrubs like butter. Very easy to operate and use. Worth every penny. (I think I'll carry on with this trend and get the Black & Decker heavy duty blower with the same battery; power is addictive....)

Has a lot of power and cuts great

This trimmer is legit. I was hoping for simply “sufficient” out of this cordless trimmer. I have other B+D 60V tools and have been very happy with them. But the proficiency of this trimmer is unexpected. It cuts through half inch branches without a fuss, almost too easily. It’s very sturdy and robust for a tool made for home use and carries a very long battery life given the power that it has. Very satisfied.

Overall, I like the machine, however the saw blade on the tip of the unit is ineffective. Why they put this saw on the end is puzzling. Perhaps as another selling point? It doesn't cut through anything.

Used for the first time today to trim the hedge facing the street. Was cheaper to buy this and do it myself than hire a gardener. Took me less than an hour to do about 80 feet, including cleanup. Battery was fully charged and still shows 3 bars so that's good. It's a little heavier than I expected and since the battery is at the rear, it's not well balanced. That aside, it did cut very well and does have the power, except when it came to anything over 1/2 inch diameter. The saw or "power" button were useless. I had to grab a pair or hand snips for those few branches. Anyway, like I said, I got the job done cheaper than the gardener and I have myself a pretty good tool for other trim jobs around the yard.
